Thinking about buying a VW Passat

I really like the Passat and I can get a '98 really cheap. Only thing is it has 76,000 miles on it. Should I even bother checking it out? I figure it may be worth a shot since it's such a well made car. Anyone feel like putting in their ?

Personally I love Volkswagens. I have owned a 1987 16v GTI and a 2001 VW Golf GLS. Volkswagens are great cars and I had my 87 GTI until it had over 130,000 miles on it and all I ever had to get done was the regular maintenance and a fuel pump. I think that if the Passat is in good condition you shouldn?t have a problem. Especially if you are getting a good deal.

The Passat is a great car. Both interior and exterior is smooth.

Great Cars!

I would not buy a '98 as that was the first year of the redesign, so they may have more problems than newer ones.

I own a '00 Passat and so far.. so good.. almost perfect I would say...

Beautiful car!

76,000 is nothing indeed. These babies do 200 000 with ease

I really like VWs. Not every model is choice, but all in all a good make.

Excellent cars. One of my biz partners had one. The dash looks cool as heck at night with a space age blue.

Go for it!

If you like it and the price is right, then grab it
76k miles is nothing for cars these days

that comes out to about 15k miles per year, which is average

The VW Passat is a really nice car!

If I were you I'd consider an Audi A4 though. It's smooth & solid!

My favorite years for the Audi are 97 to 2000.

Check out this Pimped out 2003, I dont like the rounded ends and it breaks my heart that it belongs to some 15 year old who begged his rich parents for it no doubt "AuStIns fo ShiZzle"
