Here's the keys to the Uranium One deal

Bush Sr, Bill and Hillary Clinton and Obama Admin all working together for Russia.

Russia had a contract that ended in 2013 to supply the US with enriched Uranium. They killed the old program and started a new company called Centrus Energy Corp.

Russia needed the Uranium One deal for the supply because the retired weaponry wasn't enough.

    Megatons to Megawatts Program

The Megatons to Megawatts Program, successfully completed in December 2013, is the popular name given to the program which is also called the United States-Russia Highly Enriched Uranium Purchase Agreement. The official name of the program is the "Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the United States of America Concerning the Disposition of Highly-Enriched Uranium Extracted from Nuclear Weapons", dated February 18, 1993.[1] Under this Agreement, Russia agreed to supply the United States with low-enriched uranium (LEU) obtained from high-enriched uranium (HEU) found to be in excess of Russian defense purposes. The United States agreed to purchase the low-enriched uranium fuel.

The original proposal for this program was made by Thomas Neff, a physicist at MIT, in an October 24, 1991 Op-Ed in The New York Times.[2] On August 28, 1992, in Moscow, U.S. and Russian negotiators initialed the 20-year agreement and President George H. W. Bush announced the agreement on August 31, 1992.[3] In 1993, the agreement was signed and initiated by President Clinton and the commercial implementing contract was then signed by both parties.

The United States Enrichment Corporation, a subsidiary of Centrus Energy Corp. (formerly USEC Inc.), is a corporation that contracts with the United States Department of Energy to produce enriched uranium for use in nuclear power plants.

The Energy Policy Act of 1992, a U.S. federal law, created USEC to privatize uranium enrichment for civilian use, and in July 1993 USEC took over the facilities. The sale of USEC was completed on July 28, 1998 through an initial public offering of USEC stock. The U.S. government received about three billion dollars for USEC.[citation needed]

USEC had gaseous diffusion plants at Piketon, Ohio near Portsmouth. In May 2001, USEC ceased uranium enrichment operations in Piketon and consolidated operations in Paducah, Kentucky. The following year, transfer and shipping operations were also consolidated at Paducah.[citation needed]

A demonstration gas centrifuge plant was being built at Piketon for initial commercial operation in 2009, with a full-size plant is planned there for operation in 2012.[3] However, in July 2009 the DOE did not grant a $2 billion loan guarantee for a planned uranium-enrichment facility in Piketon, Ohio, "causing the initiative to go into financial meltdown," the company USEC spokesperson Elizabeth Stuckle said, adding "we are now forced to initiate steps to demobilize the project."[4][5]

On July 28, 2009, the company said that it was suspending work on the project because of the Department of Energy's decision not to provide loan guarantees. The Energy Department said that the proposed plant was not ready for commercial production and therefore ineligible for the loan guarantees. The department said that if USEC withdraws its application, it will receive $45 million over the next 18 months to conduct further research.

Before its downsizing and final cessation of uranium enrichment on May 31, 2013, the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant consumed about 3,000 megawatts of electricity at peak operation.[6] Power for the Paducah gaseous diffusion plant came from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). In 2012 the majority of the TVA grid was generated by coal fired plants, with three nuclear power plants counting for about 30 percent of TVA's energy.[7]

The Department of Energy remains responsible for clean-up of the sites of materials left there prior to 1993.[citation needed]

USEC was the executive agent in the U.S./Russia Highly Enriched Uranium Purchase Agreement, implemented under the Megatons to Megawatts Program.[citation needed]

On December 16, 2013, USEC announced that it had reached an agreement with a majority of its debt holders to file a prearranged and voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring in the first quarter of 2014.[8] On September 30, 2014, executives announced that the company had emerged from bankruptcy proceedings with a new name, Centrus Energy Corp.[9]

Federal watchdogs last year accused DOE of breaking the law to support USEC, accusations the agency denied.

The Government Accountability Office found the agency had violated laws on fair pricing and national security when it arranged four uranium transfers in 2012 and 2013 to bolster USEC. The agency lacked authority to transfer "tails," or leftover depleted uranium, to a third party for re-enrichment under restrictions imposed by the USEC Privatization Act, GAO found (Greenwire, June 9, 2014).

I wonder who they transferred that uranium to?

How many illegal 3rd parties buying enriched Uranium within the US do you think there are? I'm not done, I'm going to find that report...

And here it is.. No mention of who they did business with just yet..

DOE accepted ownership of tails, along with liability for disposal costs, in exchange for other benefits. In another transaction, DOE transferred ownership of tails to a third party to be re-enriched by USEC. The fourth transaction involved the transfer of uranium material other than tails.

It said that the department transferred enriched uranium from USEC in March 2012 for what it said were national security reasons, then transferred it back to USEC in March 2013 without obtaining a needed presidential determination.

The Obama administration has paid special attention to USEC because of the company’s unusual history — as well as the location of its plants in key political swing states.

We should have an investigation. Mostly because Hillary wasn't involved in the decision, most likely didn't even know about it, no uranium left the country, and no money went into Hillarys' pocket. Sounds like an easy case.

                        Uranium was/is leaving the US

The US government ultimately reaped $3 billion from the sale to a new firm, the US Enrichment Corporation (USEC) by some reports. Their 1998 IPO set the per-share price at $14.25. But to sweeten the deal for what looked like soon-to-be white elephants, USEC was made principal agent for the commercial sale of Russian down-blended uranium. The US government retained responsibility for the decommissioning and cleanup of the plants once they closed for good. At their IPO, they claimed to supply 75% of the US market for enrichment services and 40% of the world market. Assets totaled over $3 billion.

And here's where the Uranium One deal comes in

USEC went bankrupt in 2012, although it has reorganized itself and emerged a shadow of its former self under the name of Centrus Energy. Its principal business is as a sales agent for TENEX, the Russian enrichment concern. But even that is limited by a 2008 law restricting Russian imports of enrichment services.

So, Russia didn't get any uranium, but instead the United States got uranium.

Wrong again, can't have yellowcake and eat it too?

Yet NRC memos reviewed by The Hill show that it did approve the shipment of yellowcake uranium — the raw material used to make nuclear fuel and weapons — from the Russian-owned mines in the United States to Canada in 2012 through a third party. Later, the Obama administration approved some of that uranium going all the way to Europe, government documents show.

Government officials told The Hill that the NRC was able to amend the export license affecting Uranium One because of two other decisions previously made by the Obama administration as part of a Russian “reset” in President Obama’s first term.

First, Obama reinstated a U.S.-Russia civilian nuclear energy cooperation agreement. President George W. Bush had signed the agreement in 2008, but withdrew from it before it could take effect after Russia became involved in a military conflict with the former Soviet republic of Georgia, a U.S. ally, and after new concerns surfaced that Moscow was secretly aiding Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions.

Obama re-submitted the agreement for approval by the Democrat-controlled Congress in May 2010, declaring Russia should be viewed as a friendly partner under Section 123 the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 after agreeing to a new nuclear weapons reduction deal and helping the U.S. with Iran.

“I have concluded: (1) that the situation in Georgia need no longer be considered an obstacle to proceeding with the proposed Agreement; and (2) that the level and scope of U.S.-Russia cooperation on Iran are sufficient to justify resubmitting the proposed agreement to the Congress,” Obama said in a statement sent to Congress.

Congress took no action, which allowed the deal to become effective 90 days later.
