Isn't it a fact more teens today HAVE mental issues? Their stressed, have to keep contact through social media 24/7, always checking phone, always connected, less time to relax and unwind. Teens are going through a tremendous pressure from every day life and school. I'm not surprised at all that mental issues have been rising last 10-15 years and especially young people are being affected. Gender dysphoria IS a mental illness. That doesn't make the person suffering a bad person. "Treatments" like hormones and surgery are to dull the symptoms brought on by the condition (much like painkillers, they mask the symptoms but don't fix the source of the pain.) but deep down they know that it's just a surface fix. This is probably a big factor in suicide rates.
People suffer from gender dysphoria. It can't be an easy thing to live with and the people that do put up with a lot. Even though people can be trans and seem well together and productive members of society doesn't mean it isn't a mental illness. Depression is a mental illness, people get through it.

I've got nothing against trans people live and let live and all that and I hope they find happiness in life, I really do, but the truth is until we can fix the source of the problem I think suicide rates will remain sky high. And that's what's sad.
