Do you understand a difference between an accident and a premeditated murder?

As I said above, in my country every man is a soldier. Course if he is not cripple, has no money for a bribe and is not a son of some politician. If you are not one of those you have to serve in army and you may be sent to a real war (not a boy-scout camp like Rochard). You will have to kill and you may be killed too. I know a lot of people who were at wars like Afghanistan and Chechnya. All of them are regular guys - they have not signed any contracts and they were not paid for that. For example, a classmate of my wife (the guy who gave flowers to her when he was a boy) has served as a machine gun operator during the Chechen war. In contrast to Rochard, he is a real veteran who was at real war. Once when we were drinking beer with him, I asked: "how many people did you kill?". He said: "I don't know... maybe 20 or 25... When you fire with a machine gun, the guy just falls. Maybe he's dead, maybe injured or maybe he just stumbled..."

He drinks a lot now and I really feel for him, because he didn't choose to be a killer. He was drafted and pushed out when his service was completed. And there are many guys like him in Russia. They all were trained to kill, some (like that guy) have killed other humans. My brother in law was a member of VDV assault brigade in Afghanistan. He just doesn't tell what he did there (he says he was a cook at the kitchen), but I know what he did and that's won't sound good if I tell it here... Unfortunately. Too many Russian guys did that just because they had - not for money and not for contract and further preferences. As about the professional soldiers who get paid for their service - I don't care and totally agree with Trump - they know what they sign up for - to be killers.

You're calling me girlish and yet here you are comparing your feelings and emotional strength to that of a grieving woman?s.

Again, try to understand that in this context, no one gives a shit about how tough Mother Russia has made you and your feelings, comrade. Not the grieving woman, nor anyone with an ounce of human decency.

I'm saying this in the interest of the small chance that you'll have an epiphany and realize how fundamentally wrong your thought process is regarding this scenario.

Try to understand that I don't give a shit on how thought your country is. When a draft soldier dies it's a tragedy. When a paid mercenary dies - it's a normal end of his career. Mission accomplished, congratulations! Maybe you just don't understand what he was paid for? To live like a boy scout, shoot at bottles and sleep with exotic chicks? No...

Once again and again: president Trump is absolutely right.

Empathy. Look it up one day, maybe you'll realize that "the truth and nothing but the cold hard truth" can take a backseat among well-rounded, developed people in the interest of the feelings of another weaker human that's suffering in one way or another.

If that doesn't register with you, I don't know what to tell you and wish you good luck. :2 cents:

Look you're trying to spin this in an attempt to somehow not only justify your beliefs but also because you hate Drumpf.

So I'll make it easy for you.

Someone working the night shift at McDonalds gets shot and killed by a robber. Well that's a tragedy because they're a civilian and their family isn't going to get a phone call from the president.

On the other hand someone in the military gets killed is a different story. They're not civilians, they're trained to use fire arms and it's made very clear that they might be called to kill someone or that they might become a casualty of conflict.

You sign the contract and you accept the risk. You give up being a civilian for the opportunities and benefits of the military and you have to take the risks that go with that. Today's military is a volunteer one so therefore no one has a gun at your head forcing you into dangerous situations.

No.

I didn't sign up to drive a tank. I didn't sign up to serve in a front line infantry unit. I didn't sign up to become a TOW gunner. I signed up to become a cook. I signed up to get money for college.

But no matter what....

The President of the United States should never call someone who's spouse just died and say "too fucking bad" or "No big deal" or "He knew what he was getting into.

No matter what.

It's undignified.

The leader of the free world should set the example, be a leader - not a crap on our troops by saying "this is what he signed up for".

It's deplorable.

No, he didn't sign up for a war zone, he didn't sign up to go into combat, and he surely did not get paid "big $$$$" - unless you consider $20k a year "big $$$$".

No matter what NO ONE should say anything like that to someone who just died.

No, I never made it to cooking school.

Instead I became a TOW missile man, MOS 0352, and served with 2/8. After a few years I became a combat instructor with AITS.

I never saw any combat, and got out in 1989 shortly before Kuwait.

So I'm confused a bit. Are you a cook, or you are a cannon fodder - a man who will be killed first at a front line?

I will explain it to you in the military terminology. What is an efficient range of MOS 035? What is an efficient range of a sniper? But everything that doesn't mater, because there will be no snipers. There will be РСЗО "Буратино" (aka Pinokio :)) and 9К58 "Смерч" to take you out from the game. You won't be able to blink, before they will turn you into a bbq.

These little babes will be used to neutralize the TOW operators like you:

Now tell me you are not a cannon fodder :) You have signed for that and you are very lucky there were was no real military conflict.

Mickey_ 10-19-2017 02:15 PM

In related alternative news, Donald Trump was quoted as saying "I'd rather not waste my time calling any war widows, unless they are at least a solid 8."

BaldBastard 10-19-2017 02:34 PM

Your all carrying on as if Trump was responding to the solider or prep taking to the next batch of brain washed droids to be sent in on a mission, but he wasn't, he was speaking to the grieving widow crying on a phone.

Also interesting they sent Kelly in for the defence when its known the call was taken in a travelling car on speaker phone which Wilson was also in because she's a close family friend. Might be hard to avoid that and interesting how they are skipping over that part now.

Are you a fucking retard? The dude was a Green Beret.

Special Forces missions have like a 50% chance of being shot. "He knew what he signed up for" is not offensive. It's actually a complement to his bravery for signing up.

We don't even know what Trump said, we know what some crazy lady in a plastic cowboy hat who has already called for his impeachment says he said.

No.

First, we don't know he signed up to become a Green Beret. Maybe he signed up to be a cook and got pulled into infantry.

Second, it doesn't fucking matter. No matter what, it doesn't matter. I don't care if this man had a death wish and wanted, actually wanted to die on the battlefield. It doesn't matter. You don't walk up to the man's spouse and say "Eventually had had it coming" or "He knew it would happen eventually". You say nice things. You say good things. You say "He was a Hero" or "I'm sorry for your loss". It's called common decency.

This man has no common decency.

It's amazing how this happens. A man puts a lapel on his collar and claims to support the military when he doesn't know the first thing about it. He doesn't even seem to know who the President of the Virgin Islands is.

This is disgusting.

Mark this is a no brainer.

It doesn't matter what someone's "Job" is in the military because they will always run the risk of being killed by an enemy of the state. Just wearing the uniform makes someone a target for those that don't agree with his government. It's just as simple as that.

Dude, you don't get it.

When you enlist, you're fighting for your country. You kill (or help soldiers to kill), and you get shot at. You're lucky to make it out alive. You see death, you lose your mind, you lose your friends. You give up a big part of your life to serve. For most it's a duty and an honour. When called to serve (drafted), most would go, knowing all the risks, but do so for duty and honour.

Snowflake Donald Trump claimed bone spurs to get out of serving. Donald Trump cares zero for soldiers. Donald Trump forgot the name of the soldier who's widow he was pretending to care about. Donald Trump casually and with zero fucks given, said "He knew what he was getting into".

What the fuck is wrong with a person who can defend this son of a bitch for total, casual disregard for the feelings of a grieving widow, and for the service that Sgt. La David Johnson, father of 2 kids with 3rd on the way, provided?

If you want to say he knew what he was in for when he signed up, thats up to you. But the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES should really have a little more respect and decorum.

Today there's no longer a draft.... Anyone joining the military does so willingly.

And you can thank all those wonderful people like myself of the 1960's who revolted against the establishment and got rid of the draft.
