Days like today will only make extreme right on both sides get bigger and bigger. Spanish gov could simply let them vote..the outcome could be even remain vote (like in Scotland)..even if they would vote YES, that would be a LONG way to true indpendence...lots of obstacles. and yeah, they could also let them vote and later tell that voting was illegal, as for example, it would require 90% frequency etc. lots of things to do in smarter way...

So why UK let Scotts vote ? different country with different standards I guess:winkwink::winkwink:

The UK hasn't got a written constitution, everything can be challenged by law.

Spain, including Cataluņa in 1978 voted for a constitution that says a region cannot split from Spain.

So to change it you need to change the constitution, and I think all of Spain has to vote on those..

Yep, Spanish police are not very good at dealing with shit like this. I think the government did something to try and stop the shouts of look they did nothing.. The right is waking up, better to keep them in mainstream politics, than get a new far right party.

They all pretend they fought for something other than who they will pay tax to next...the politicians got rich and the people got abstract shit like a new nationality and new flag colours...nothing changed for the better it was all a big scam...

Yep I agree, but to acknowledge it means a change in the constitution.

It's not just the vote.. its the claim declaring independence withing 48 hours that sort of needs to be dealt with.

No country in the world would allow an illegal vote and declaration of independence.

I wouldn't trust them to count the votes correctly, as everyone involved is pro independence.

Ah...Spain was there to bomb Serbia when Kosovo wanted to separate (without any kind of referendum or anything else).So they are paying the price, just like many more will in the coming decades.

They were also there when it was cool to split and destroy Yugoslavia. Still, they don't like when it happens in their country.

Slovenia never had war and life in Croatia is more expensive than in Serbia they live pretty much the same as Serbs...I don't really have a side here I am Yugoslavian LOL...empty promises were made how the sun will shine 5x better when they split but it did not...they pay taxes to different people and have an extra crest on the flag LOL...

true about cost of living...but still I think that Croats level of life is better..

Plus, dont forget that they are both part of EU. So any Slovenian or Croat can proudly drive his Yugo car to Berlin or other Brussels and participate in biggest gay pride parade ever made :thumbsup:thumbsup

Does this influence the great weather on the canary islands? Will paella taste different?

I miss Juncker, Timmermans and Schulz screaming and crying on the barricades that Catalonia has the right of independence and that they than should be part of the EU. And offering them a big bag of money with false promises.

I was also wondering if we need to make the stars on the EU flag smaller to display all the new provences or that we need another shape. Cuase Belgium will follow, ireland, and who knows who else. Or maybe they even won't join the EU.

the sad part is that the pre-independence promises of the politicians amounted to nothing...the average croat has like 10$/day more than a serb...its going so good in croatia that they will loose 1/4 of the population by 2031...most of the remaining population will be old...kosovo will be without any population, if things continue like this, in 20 years...everybody is getting out LOL...
