They'll defend Trump starving 3.5 million people. That's how morally bankrupt they've become.

trump is doing nothing at all. He hasn't done anything for Houston, Florida, and now Puerto Rico. trump signed a piece of paper sending financial aid, but that's it. He did the bare minimum.

There are over three million American citizens in Puerto Rico who will not have power for months.

Not including the air craft carrier in dry dock, we have two aircraft carriers in port on the east coast. I understand it takes some effort to get these ships fully manned and supplied, but the moment we knew Puerto Rico suffered a direct hit shouldn't someone in our government say "Maybe we should get one of these ships out to sea in the event we need them"?

The US Navy has two hospital ships, the Mercy and the Comfort; Why aren't these being deployed? Again, I understand such ships cannot just leave port but perhaps they should have started the process a week ago and perhaps they could just be arriving on station now.

Instead, our government has done.... pretty much nothing.

Then again, what did we expect from someone who's biggest claim to fame was firing Meatloaf on national TV.

The US should not rush to help too quickly. There needs to be consequences for maintaining a nation that can't care for itself.

I read that the Navy is now being activated and the Comfort is being sent there. Funny enough, Hillary Clinton tweeted about doing just this then a few days later it happens. Might be coincidence, maybe not. Either way, it will take a little time for these ships to get ready and get there. They should have been prepping them as the storm was heading that way.

And the UK Armed Forces. But it makes a better story if it's presented as Trump doing nothing.

Defense Department: Hurricane relief around the clock

In San Juan, Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello appeared at a brief news conference Monday and praised the U.S. federal response to Hurricane Maria, which has included sending nearly 10,000 people to help recovery from the devastation. He also said his government has been in touch with mayors across the island and was working to get food and water to isolated communities cut off after the hurricane.

Rossello said federal agencies also have helped restore power to a medical center in San Juan and supply diesel to fuel the generators of hospitals as well as deliver food and water to hard-hit communities across the island. And the governor said he was "very grateful" to President Donald Trump for responding Puerto Rico's petition for help.
