Of course there's no one lining up for this phone. I'm a fanboy (shocker) but Apple really goofed this time.
The iPhone 7 is a really, really good phone. Very fast, great camera, etc, and it was expensive to buy last fall.
The iPhone 8 has some cool new features: New glass design, better camera (wow!), faster cpu, wireless charging, but ... meh! So what? My iphone 7 is still freaking awesome without these new features so as an iPhone 7 user, I don't feel the need to upgrade yet.
The other goof Apple dun did was announce the iPhone X coming out in November. If I really wanted to buy a new phone right now, I would wait until the X came out, even if it was too expensive and I wanted to compare the 2 in my hands. What's an extra 40 days or so?
And plus, to be really honest, it doesn't even look that cool or that different from the 7's. This apple fanboy gives it a single "Meh" out of 2 Meh's.
Of course I will still go to the Apple store to check it out, but I know I won't buy it until I stupidly break my current phone.

I have the 7Plus 256GB Jet Black model $969
Upgrading to the 8Plus 256GB model at $949 kinda pointless as nobody wants to buy a new model and have it not be the new model a month later so most will wait for the X.
Gonna wait for the X version 256GB Silver at $1149
Chinese wouldn't need to buy one since they can just steal an iphone part everyday from the assembly line and build their own at home. I should get a temporary job at the factory a few weeks before launch and do the same.
iPhone X will be the most Superior phone ever, Samsung 8+, Note 8 probably start on fire again.

I got me-self Samsung S7 Galaxy Edge a couple years ago and never looked back. 2 SIMs or extra 64gb mem card. Iphone by comparison just keeps fucking their shit up.

Probably the only reason for anyone to order the iPhone 8 or 8+ as well instead of waiting for the X, they still have the home button on them.
Think the only thing I don't dig on the X is the notch.
I've eyeballed the Samsung 8+ and Note 8 just in case the X supply is like a crazy wait time. I usually stay up late and order online on launch date but think this year demand will be higher than the normal high due to most bypassing the 8 and 8+ for the X. Find out on 10/27 if they have the supply to meet demand.Comment

I used to wait in line (and loved it) to see movies like Star Trek. 2-3 hours was never a problem if I knew I could get seats in the sweet spot. Today I just buy reserved seats.
Me too. It would be so much cooler if the notch wasn't there and the glass wrapped around the edge. Probably one day it will be all glass.
As for Apple, I wouldn't worry about them. Go into any Apple store any time and its cram-jammed full of shoppers. I think iPhone 8 may turn out to be a dud, but X might sell well despite the high price.Comment
