I think you have drank "the "koolaid", you seem to forget that former Tartar, Lutvenian,Polish territories were taken over by the Bolsheviks who gave them some sort of status and named them Ukraininian Soviet Republic. Well known "democrat" and by then Ukrainian "patriot" while a head of Soviet Union gave these territories (you claim Russia invaded) back in the 60ties and that included Crimea ( taken from the Turks by Catherine the Great and kept by them thru several wars including English Crimean War.)

Now, in the 90ties when Ukrainian nationalists declared independence and for the first time in history become a national unit, Russia let them have it, but now Ukraine is a hotbed of ultranationalists and Bandera adherents, the Russian majority population in these territories, finally said enough is enough and went back to Mother Russia....And of course Russia gave them support and weapons.

Now what would you say if:

Mexicans demanded and got California back.
The Scots decided to separate without plebiscite.

Well, I may only say that - as a tourist I enjoy cheap Ukraine now, and its cheap because Russia destablized it (even more than Ukrainians themselves) and uah lost 70 % of its value. so its bargain now, while before it wasnt worth it :)
