    Coldest night in 45 years where is that global warming????

    Weather forecast: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart

    IF you thought winter was over, you might want to think again because spring isn’t quite ready to officially take over just yet.

    Temperatures across NSW plummeted yesterday with residents in the inland town of Goulburn shivering through the coldest September night in 45 years, with a chilly -5C recorded.

    The good news is the cold snap isn’t hanging around for too much longer.

    Sky News weather meteorologist Tristan Meyer told news.com.au the cold snap was the result of a high pressure system.

    “This high pressure system will also lead to predominantly sunny skies and a warm day over the southeast,” he said.

    The cool overnight temperatures was a significant drop for Goulburn with the average minimum for this time of year being 4.6C.

                                                      i don't get this argument that always comes up when someone posts something like this...

                                                      weather extremes and damaging storms are becoming more and more common. no matter if this is caused by man or a natural occurrence why would this be an argument to not do all that we can to take care of the only home, earth, that will ever have? just seems so dumb to want the right to pollute more and poison our water. what kind of dummy wants to do that?

                                                              This past June it was 105 degrees here but sixty miles north of me it ws snowing. That's not entirely uncommon.

                                                              But global warming is a fact. We just had two huge hurricanes strike the US in the past two weeks. That never happens. Hurricanes are getting bigger and bigger, and are coming closer and closer together. There are two more hurricanes out there right now.... And more to follow.

                                                              At some point Florida will be hit by huge hurricanes every summer.

                                                                                              2. huricans develop over the warm seas when the temperature between clouds and water is so different that the warm air and humidity rises faster and faster. the difference of a single degree can make a tropical storm to a class 5 hurricane.

                                                                                              3. unfortunately, there are also "el nino" and "la nina" - two weather phenomena that occur in irregular cycles and considerably intensify the quality of the storms.
                                                                                              In the past, the phases of calm between the ninos between 3 and 7 years have lasted for the last decades and these phases are becoming shorter and shorter. between the el nino 2016 and between the in 2107 were less than 8 months.

                                                                                              4. as a result of the warming of the sea-water, all winds formed above the sea become more and more intense, and this is particularly evident in the times of El Nino.

                                                                                              5. the global warming on land we still do not feel strongly today, as we are accustomed to the heat and cold periods through the seasons - but we already feel the global warming of the seas.

                                                                                              so it is not only increasingly strong storms but also the dying of coral reefs has to do with it.

                                                                                              the oceans are only 2-3 degrees warmer on average and will destroy the entire oceanic food chain and thus any life in the sea.

                                                                                              without the ocean the world can not survive - no human being and no animal.

                                                                                              it will not happen at all that we are experiencing that the world is destroyed by storms as they have no longer reigned on the earth for 500 million years, because the sea will die long before and with the sea every life on this planet.

                                                                                              remember 2 degrees celsius more !!!!

                                                                                                                      its not just about co2, its about pollution in general. the corporate deniers of climage change are using it as an excuse to continue to dump mercury into our waters, all kinds of pollutants into the air and burying toxic garbage that will leech into the ground waters poisoning wells for decades. is this ok to you because "warmer is better than cold"? this is the only world we've got, lets protect while we can..thats all there is and there ain't no more..
