You will rarely get a reply in my experience. Big - Medium sites get tons of emails and are probably in a routine of deleting them without even opening them. Try making sure your subject text does not look spammy and quickly shows your a real person

Sorta true.

I won't reply if you look a) spammy, b) shady / unprofessional or c) waste of time. Sadly, most look this way or apparently get paid by the hour and want to talk forever.

Also, make an offer or mention a budget. I don't want to spend 6 hours talking on Skype for no reason. Do your research before you e-mail. SimilarWeb is probably one of the few tools that is, for the most part, somewhat accurate.

Iv also had success finding a site id like to get in touch with and looking to see if they have a twitter or any social media account attached and getting a hold of them that way. Give that a bash.
