Foreign producers and 2257
Just had a real interesting thought. Will be running this past our lawyer for sure.
If your company is in the US and you license hardcore content from a producer in another country, and that producer is not subject to the US 2257 laws, can you use the content? Or do they need to be 2257 compliant anyway for a US webmaster to be able to legally use there content? And let's really make this interesting. Would a foreign producer that wants to license content to a US company need a US office to be 2257 compliant? Hugs, Danielle |

of course if you are a U.S. webmaster all your content must be 2257 compliant regardless where the producer is from.
many webmasters buy content through brokers from producers in Europe without ever seeing any documentation with their own eyes, trusting that the broker did all the due dilgence. Talk about living dangerously. And we know one major broker's opinion and reluctance to provide copies of the documentation. I don't think a foreign producer needs to have a U.S. address in order to sell/license content to U.S. webmasters.

Everyone is wrapped up in this 2257 law thing. Here are the reasones, other than 2257 law, why you need the documentation.
1. Proves who the models are and ages. 2. Proves that the models agreed to the selling and publishing of the pictures . 3. Proves the guy you are getting it from has the rights to resell it. Wake up call. You are now in the internet porno industry, where unscupulous people will sell you pics of 17 year olds they shot for fun, or stole pictures of. All our content comes with full documentation, we sell to Hustler and have been for a long time. If the supplier will not show you the 2257 documentation, buy from one that will. If he tells you he is protecting the girls anonimity ask him "Why are you selling pictures of her getting fucked then" Assume he will not show it because he cannot show it. |
