Thanks guys, and Brian it's alright you were upset. I wasn't around after the sale that is true. But the sale had been completed. Our last words on Skype before I logged out were that you had moved the website and were just waiting for the DNS to propagate. Screenshots are fine, I have nothing to hide. I wasn't around the computer for several days that is true, I was at my girlfriends apartment and under the impression that the site had been moved. Just let me know if your tech still has troubles getting the correct database installed, and if you need me to, I can go in and get it all figured out for you.

I don't agree with your attitude, or lack of common sense in realizing that this issue was with your tech not being able to use the information given to move the website correctly, but he did in fact have all of the information needed to do it. For example if I need to go in and fix this for you, I will be using the same information I sent you originally. I did not leave before sending you all of the needed information, ftp, social accounts, cPanel, domain push, and getting the okay that your tech had moved the website.

This is a very wrong statement. You and your tech had access to the server. The database could have been viewed quite easily. The table is the posts table and you can see very easily what is in there.

Secondly, as Fappy pointed out earlier, you could have pointed your hosts file to the server and looked at the site anytime you wanted to. Anybody claiming to be a tech would know this and would probably do it. I know I do it all the time when putting a new domain/site up.

So. The issue here is that you did not and do not know what you are doing and you relied on someone else that apparently did not know what they were doing.

Then you blamed it on Fappy.

You should either apologize or be banned or both.

Also after re-reading some of the post he's made here regarding "digging" on me, and all his offline time to come and "deal" with a clown like me, I have decided to contact an admin about removing him from the forum. Reading through this thread, I knew by the first post where OP explains what happened that probably the wrong database was copied - the site worked but was missing posts. After OP complained about it, his tech should have looked at the wp config file to confirm that he had copied the right database. It's also the first thing I would have checked if the site was working but it was missing posts especially given that prior to moving DNS the content was all there...

I don't see what "sneaky shit" fappy did exactly, especially if you confirmed that all was ok.

Website Design, Hosting, Domain Registration.... You seems to have lots of knowledge :)

Proper way to move a site:

1. create site on new server
2. move/create files on new server.
3. load up the database on new server.
4. Change hosts file on local machine so domain points to new server.
5. Debug site on new server.
6. Once site on new server is good go to registrar and change out dns for domain.
7. Remove hosts entry so you can see actual site when dns rolls.
8. Anywhere form 10 minutes to 2 hours later see site on new server.

Pretty much works perfectly every time.

BTW, the statement about 24-72 hours for propagating the dns is pretty much out of date. Typical propagation time I see is usually less than an hour.
