                              This is exactly the same MO as, to take an example especially for you, the US government who fabricated a reason to invade Iraq: "Look, they have nukes! He is a mad man and has to be stopped, we gotta invade." The majority of the naive public opinion agreed due to all the brainwashing on, of course, mainstream media.
                              The real reason however, was that Saddam wouldn't trade oil in dollars anymore but in Euros so he had to go, not useful to the States anymore and they'd also control the oil.

                                          advertisers forced google to crack down on this...they did not want their products associated with certain groups so they complained to google and then google took action...advertisers are free to not advertise on google if they do not like something...and they didnt like something....

                                                  Unfortunately, as a liberal, I admit that it's true and it's reprehensible. It comes mainly from the radical left though. They have brainwashed most mainstream liberals into believing this PC nonsense - although the mainstream hasn't done much to fight back to be honest, too scared of looking like a 'bad person.'

                                                  I do think in Google's case that they don't really buy all of this garbage but uphold it because it will lead to less controversy - they are now a corporation and money is #1, they are not a rebellious upstart anymore.

Because they are held accountable when they get the story wrong. The sites that aren't associated and reputable as those are not accountable to anyone or anything. you wouldn't go to alex jones for news right? He is a lunatic, but he is no different than the average non reputable news site, the only difference is they don't make videos with crazy rants by their owners. It's reasonable to avoid editorials, especially from a source you don't like, but news reports are not the same thing at all. Most can't tell the difference unfortunately.
