    Share Your Fig Recipes...

    I have millions of the bloody things - I don't want to just bin them - It's such a waste - I can't eat them because I am diabetic so I need a way of preserving them - Call your granny's, they always love figs...

        my grandmother used to make this onion and fig schnapps thing...had her own distillery for it...also wallnut liquor...but then again she was a raging alcoholic

                  Yeah drying them is easiest solution if you have heaps. Pity your diabetic they make great jam and relishes. Each recipe begins with.. 8 cups of sugar.

                  Take a couple of kg of them, split them sprinkle with brown sugar and roast over an open flame, pack a jar half full of this and then fill it with cheap port. Put lid on and store in a kitchen cupboard for a week then strain it and bottle. Roasted Fig Liqueur.... fucking insane on icecream :P

                      Sounds incredible, but one of my toes fell off just reading the recipe...
