There should be world-wide ETF -- there will be sooner or later.

To be honest, I was half expecting my first Paxum withdrawal to come from a local agent who receives wires from Paxum, then does a bank transfer.

That sort of arrangement probably would have worked 10 or 15 years ago. These days that sort of activity would get your bank account flagged pretty quickly. I had my bank asking all sorts of nosy questions about the sources of deposits to my USD account.
