It's probably more to cover their own butts (and those further up the chain) in case something really bad points back to them. I don't think anyone could accuse Paxum of a cursory glance and a rubber stamping of a new account application... I had my docs rejected 3 times...

boziffous 08-15-2017 09:56 AM

WTF!? This just happened to me as well. I went to sign into my Paxum account and it had me update my password which it seems to do every 6 months or so. I chose a new password and then entered in the authorization key that Paxum sent via email to complete the password change request. After that when I tried to sign in I received an Error message that said

Errors :

This Account is closed.

Where are you located? Asking because I will be curious to see if you are in the same state as other to who this happened...

Ruth will probably re-open it for 30 days if you email her giving you time to switch to Paxum Bank.

Whoever at Paxum decided to close all these accounts without even informing their owner is nothing else than an idiot and I hope Ruth will tell him/her...

Texas.

I emailed Ruth and she responded back very quickly, stating that she would arrange for my account to be reopened and would let me know as soon as she had an update.

cosis 08-15-2017 02:50 PM

It does put one in a bind when expecting payments and your account is suddenly closed.

Forkbeard 08-15-2017 03:44 PM

Yeah, we are going to need some clarity from Paxum about what is gping on here.

HomerSimpson 08-15-2017 05:02 PM

Paxum Bank... WOW!!!

hdbuilder 08-16-2017 08:44 AM

Am i reading this right? For a personal account the minimum deposit is 10K and for a business its 50K? If it's right the average webmaster wont be able to open one...

I am a huge online privacy advocate and know trying times are ahead for us all, and we all will have to work hard together in the future to maintain our rights in the adult industry online, and the right to privacy of our customers, likely all of us having to go underground in the future and use anonymous networks, banking, etc.

Some people have no issues banking with anonymous entities, others do have issues with it, others don't know much about it. People use anonymous banking for a lot of very valid reasons.

I'm providing the following info as knowledge for the community, not as judgement or a negative, just a resource for anyone who doesn't know, to make an informed decision when it comes to your banking.

Paxumbank.com

Host for Paxumbank.com, Iceland:

Advania/ThorDC

Advania/ThorDC has an exit note for Thor, the anonymous surfing network , and is also hosting the Thor datacenter, with Aivars Burtnieks as their managing director for Latvia.

Note: the IP for paxumbank.com means that's the ending point for data that could be served to it from anywhere in the world.

SSL for Paxumbank.com

Paxumbank.com has the free, anonymous, SSL from Let's Encrypt Authority X3.

Here is some data on the paxumbank.com SSL Certificate.

Paxumbank.com Whois

Paxumbank.com is privately registered.

Paxumbank.com Nameservers

Paxumbank.com nameservers are hidden to the public behind cloudflare

Paxum Bank licensing

Paxum bank was licensed in July, 2017 with the Commonwealth of Dominica with Galeine Gordon as their business contact.

There are 13 offshore banks currently licensed by the commonwealth with 1 in liquidation, and 5 with their licenses revoked.

Paxum has a long history here of paying people and getting things done when there's a kink in the road so I'm assuming Paxum Bank wont be any different if it's run by the same group of people.

Turns out that contact info (apart from the mysterious Mister H.) is on the website anyway... so why does the domain have WHOIS privacy?

fuck paxum,

you should move over to Bitcoin, it's not a company, so they won't ban you,
you don't even need id to have an account

paxum is garbage

Some of us don't have a choice. One major sponsor I use abruptly stopped issuing cheques and wires. Now they pay via Paxum or FCP only.

Come to think of it, that was the only reason I had an ePassporte account...

marc22 08-16-2017 05:08 PM

i agree, you don't have a choice at the moment,
many people are not aware of bitcoin, but if you notice more and more people are dropping payments companies and moving on to bitcoin, same with affiliates

what you should do is ask people you work with to start using bitcoin, the more people use it, the more freedom we will have,

bitcoin is much better than all those scummy payment companies, cheques & wires

i hate paxum, they ask for too much information and can cut you off as easy as one two three

we are workig hard to make bitcoin better and better, so you won't have to deal with stupid paxum,

don't loose hope my friend

I know all about Bitcoin, but there's very little I can do when a company that makes regular and/or major payments to me mandates that payout method. They only gave affiliates 12 days notice. The change was obviously to suit them.

marc22 08-16-2017 05:22 PM

you are right, there is little we can do when a "company" dictates the rules,

just like those scummy ccbill and paxum, they make the rules,

unfortunately for now, there is nothing we can do, in 10 years, those companies will be replaced with bitcoin

i believe it will come earlier, i've been getting paid in bitcoin more and more by affiliates

when bitcoin take over .... all this payment sites will add bitcoin to bring back their clients :1orglaugh
but please notice that it's not guaranteed whether the sponsor will send you bigger amount after 30 days cycle or not if currency is btc .

rowan 08-16-2017 06:18 PM

Just for comparison...

Payment from program via wire:

- Consistently arrives ~30 hours after midnight UTC (end of billing period). I don't have to log in anywhere, make any withdrawal requests, or do anything else. The funds just arrive in my bank account.

Payment from program via Paxum:

- First withdraw took 23 days, from request, to when funds arrived in my bank account.

- Second one wasn't even released by Paxum until 5 days after withdraw request. It's now day #8. Still no sign of funds.

Bitcoin would be awesome as the exchange I use allows use of funds after a single confirm. I could sell it 10 minutes after it was sent, and have the funds in my bank account by that evening. I'll keep dreaming...

boziffous 08-16-2017 08:23 PM

My Paxum account was reopened, but I was told that based on my location, in the next 30 days I'll need to migrate my existing Paxum account to Paxum Bank.

brassmonkey 08-17-2017 06:44 AM

bitcoin is a bother :2 cents::2 cents: this is a fucking mess!

companies get coverage and have accounts for fraud damage.

rowan 08-24-2017 02:20 AM

Has there been an official announcement yet? I bet I'm not the only person bothered by this.

I get that if Paxum has to announce every banking change in every part of the world it's going to increase the panic levels unnecessarily, but, closing out all (?) USA accounts seems to me to be a pretty major change... and especially with zero notice.

I don't think so and it doesn't make any sense!

We simply need to know which states and or countries are now longer supported by Paxum.com

cosis 08-24-2017 09:23 AM

I sent in my application for Paxum Bank. Kind of a pain but I receive a lot of payments from Paxum so I don't have much of a choice.

According to their TOS where we can read this:

"User must not be a resident of a country to which Paxum doesn't provide its services;"

that would mean that paxum.com doesn't provide services to USA resident anymore. I don't think Ruth will comment about this which is totally beyond understanding. I mean isn't it important???

Paxum.com will no longer offer services to some of the clients; for them Paxum Bank is the alternative. Additional information is not available for the moment.

Just a bump to let people know that Paxum recently discontinued (without notice) EFT to several countries. If you're outside of the USA or EU then you'll need to use a wire ($50 charge) to transfer out funds to a bank account.

Here's the current list of supported countries and currencies:

Belgium (BE) EUR
Bulgaria (BG) EUR
Cyprus (CY) EUR
Czech Republic (CZ) EUR
Denmark (DK) EUR

In order to do ETF or ACH you need to have central bank access -- you notice Canada (a low risk country) is missing also?

There should be world-wide ETF -- there will be sooner or later.
