North Korea says missile launch was a ?stern warning? for Donald Trump as China brands US President a ?spoiled child?

After Friday?s successful test launch, crackpot dictator Kim Jong-un has bragged of being able to unleash nuclear apocalypse across the United States.

The US says it will not call for a UN Security Council meeting over North Korea's missile tests because it would produce "nothing of consequence".

Such a meeting would send a message to North Korea that the international community was unwilling to challenge it, US Ambassador Nikki Haley said.

Pyongyang said its tests proved that the entire US was within range.
The US has responded by testing an anti-missile system and flying bombers over the Korean peninsula.

On Monday, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he had spoken to US President Donald Trump and they agreed on the need for further action on North Korea given its most recent missile test on Friday.

China hits back at Donald Trump: Don't blame us for North Korea

China continues to trade with North Korea but says it follows United Nations sanctions aimed at pressuring Pyongyang to back off its military buildup. It has rejected additional US sanctions, saying the standoff must be resolved through dialogue.

Japan, however, sided with Trump. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Sunday he was disappointed in China's response to North Korea's latest tests and agreed with Mr Trump that China must apply more pressure on North Korea.

Karl Dewey, an analyst for Jane's by IHS Markit, said China has political reasons not to turn its back on the North.

"Ultimately it remains in Beijing's interests to support North Korea economically," Mr Dewey said. "A unified peninsula under Seoul's leadership creates a major US ally on China's doorstep."

China conducted a live-fire drill in June and July with helicopter gunships and armored infantry units, including a simulated battle with artillery, tanks, and helicopters, according to The Journal. The nature of these military exercises goes beyond securing a border, and they mimic fighting a nuclear-armed adversary.
