![]() I have been in the biz for 15 years, like back when PayPal was in their diapers and accepting anything (including adult) to make a buck. Back with Geocities was popular and everyone was accessing the internet with a stupid AOL Cd and modem. Some of you have been doing this longer I'm sure.
But one thing that is becoming a growing problem is credit cards in a no card holder present online business. Basically you are getting screwed so many ways from bank fees, transaction fees, gateway fees, etc. And to add to this you are at the mercy of the card holder's bank. Now I have things pretty well under control, but I'm thinking of implementing and maybe even going completely cc free. There are so many other, safer options out there now, and not all countries even use credit cards as their default money transfer option. Has anyone done this? I have to a smaller degree and it has worked, but I've never gone full-on with it. If you have done this, what services did you use? |

Bitcoin
Dwolla Re-loadable card (customer purchase the reload and send you the code) ACH transfers WU MoneyGram Chase Etc. I have a list of about 20 but wanted to know if anyone has real experience with them. This isn't ideal or membership sites, but like cam sites where customer load up their site wallet. |

All that stuff has a high bar to the average consumer right now. If enough people say what you just said and are successful with it that will change but right now CCs are the most widely used, with 52% of consumers using them for everything (US data but I assume much of the G20 is similar).
I am hoping for Bitcoin 2.0: The Secururing because anonymous instant micropayments (done using bitcoin or next digital with a wallet technology like "CoinReady" or something) would be a huge boon for this business and every other, bringing the retail staple of impulse purchases to the digital market. |
