ReNaming Images

I have a question, I just got some pics back from a lab.. and I got 4 different cd's. Each cd has 'the same' name for all the images, example picture #1 is a001_01, #2 is a002_02, etc.. Now is there a program that would batch rename files within a folder?

I just dont want to do it by hand..

Thanks in advance!

I could make you a php script to do this in a matter of minutes. Gimme a shout on ICQ if you want.

Idiots!

USE PHOTOSHOP FOR ALL YOUR IMAGING PURPOSES!!

PhotoShop will indeed batch rename, make thumbs, make totally customizable web galleries, with your site headers, and banners... anything you want.

It can even make a button, that when you click it, makes you money (Props to STWOF, for that one)

PhotoShop is a bad ass program. Why you'd trust some dinky little program to do your imaging over the BEST software program, is beyond me.

I eat, sleep, and breathe CompuPic Pro - http://www.photodex.com - it does a LOT of stuff for me and the image browser on there makes life easier when you're dealing with the sheer amount of content we have. It has a fully functional batch renamer and even a lossless image rotation tool for jpegs.

Also, I believe Adobe to be pure evil. While their software is indeed great, I don't like them. Just had to throw that in there.

I long for the day when the world runs Linux and The Gimp is as good as imageready. Not good for me to say as a M$ shareholder but they're becoming evil also. The new Redhat 9 with Gnome is REALLY cool.

Buy my content.

CK Rename

This program is completely free, takes 2 minutes to download, easier to operate than your dick and it does it faster than you can say "suck me sideways".

I can only find the rename thing on MAC and I don't have a mac. So if you can tell me where to find it, I would appreciate it.. I have tried file >> automate >> etc.. and nothing..

And if i have to make an action.. let's not even go there.. as all i want is ei:

all images on folder softcore01 to be renamed starting with 001

Thanks for your kind remarks though!
