I honestly dont think its SARS but as a precaution they are testing her and keeping her quarentined. She has flu symtoms which are the same as SARS and was in the Bahamas a few weeks ago, so they put all this together and make her get tested.

Hopefully I'll know some thing soon.

"Earlier today, York Region's acting medical officer of health Dr. Hanif Kassam railed against a health worker who attended a funeral and a church service on the weekend despite full-blown SARS symptoms.

While symptomatic, the man - Kassam refused to say if he was a doctor or nurse - attended a funeral at Ward Funeral Home in Woodbridge, Ont., north of Toronto, on Friday, and then church services at St. David's Parish in the nearby community of Maple the next day.

The man, an employee at an unidentified Toronto hospital who was in stable condition and under mandatory quarantine today, likely exposed "hundreds" of people, said Kassam.

"It's surprising still the number of health-care workers who don't take this seriously," Low said. "To put himself and other people at risk, I don't understand it. It just doesn't make sense."

The health-care profession is rife with otherwise complete morons. In the 15 years I worked in that field I had occasion to know a few nurses who smoked while pregnant, several doctors with the worst case of condescending "God complex" I've ever seen, and other *professionals* who you would think would know certain common-sense everyday things... but didn't.

Weird thing is.... a few weeks ago when the news on this disease was becoming heard more and more in the news, I just happen to rent all 4 instalments of Steven King's "The Stand", because I had never seen the tv series in it's entirety.

Ever since watching it, things have become more and more.... surreal.

Late on Monday, China said 193 new cases had been reported since Friday, taking the nationwide tally to 2,001. The official Xinhua news agency said 13 more people had died of SARS in the same period, raising the total to 92.

"If you do not have the resources to deal with SARS, I think we're going for a very big outbreak in China," Henk Bekedam, the WHO representative in China, told Reuters.

"I think it will be quite a challenge to contain SARS within China, especially those provinces which have very limited resources," he said.

"We hope that the provinces will be ready," he said. "Otherwise you might have in all the provinces at least 100 cases, and then you can make up the arithmetic."

China has 31 provinces, regions and major cities.
