TheFLY: Most of my important connections have my phone number anyway, so if I lost my ICQ# for "spamming" which I wasn't doing because these are webmasters that authorized me -- that are connected to this biz...
TheFLY: So that's no spam...
(censored): exactly...
(censored): the worst that will happen is that ICQ will send him a reply saying "hahahhahahaa..."
TheFLY: and almost it's always them asking me for authorization -- I rarely ask someone else for authorization.

I thought you were wiser than that. You are playing along.

Do you think I worry about somebody getting offended over something so silly? Of COURSE I took a calculated risk in violating personal privacy. You blow it out of proportion like I didn't consider the situation. Why would I ever "leak out" something that shouldn't be "leaked" ? Do you think I am that stupid? Well you may never find out if you do not trust me. But that is your problem, not mine, as obviously you are the inferior mind in this situation.

Protecting someone is so nice of you. Mind you, that's likely a conversation you made up yourself. I expect no more messages from you as I told you to take me off of your list.

Don't bother defending yourself. Take the calculated risk one step further. When an artist has to explain his work, it defeats it's purpose.

still don't understand your passion for newbies.

When did you first get online? Consider that first -- then consider how that relates to "newbs" in the porn industry. Then you will figure out the point of this thread and why projects like GFY and Adult Centro are so valuable.

People may move around in this biz but they don't "drop out" entirely. You think they get used and just leave? DO you think that knowledge just falls out of their brain? No. They will always periodically be checking the internet and boards like GFY and systems like AdultCentro for new and profitable and easy opportunities and in the next 10 years -- of course the internet is going to be used over more of the world and it will be more intergrated into daily life, and it will be the foundation of every aspect of human life. Unless we all return to the caves and start drawing on the walls, technology isn't going anywhere. Don't be a dumb ass and think about the short range of your experience in computers -- think of the 10, 20, 30 year changes... These are changes that will happen AGAIN in your lifetime. Do you want to be an old man and say things like "damn I should have invested in Microsoft" OVER AND OVER again for the rest of your life?

Don't make the same mistake twice...

Ok, Done. You are removed.

And Yes, it was a real conversation... and i only did the censoring because I thought it was funny... Probably the guy who was censored will come out and admit it him!

Oh gosh! Will the real "censored" guy please stand up?

I'd rather be dull and boring and accomplish the same result :Graucho

The initial "rocket launch thread effect" has already taken place. And yes you can use that for the textbooks -- I just coined the term!

"RLTE" (Rocket Launch Thread Effect)

Oh, yes, I forgot posting in your thread was considered playing along. However, to the next paragraph, part of your logic is flawed and I'm not going to explain. Oh, and threats / empty insults only make you dumb. Dumb means very stupid, if you were wondering.

I think what Pete is trying to say is that ease of use of technology/software, etc makes it possible for anybody to start in this or any business for that matter. That makes the bubble start bursting and hence his question if people have space for that many people in their business plan...

Thanks for the plug for AdultCentro, it's getting tuned right now! :winkwink:

Hmmm... Fly a cargo jet over a few Asian countries and air-drop leaflets with the URL on them? I'll get working on a chart for the statistics of such a mission shortly.

Sweet! Maybe we can mix those flyers into the ones that the Airforce drops with the propaganda...

like

"America loves you and is here to liberate you PLUS try our 50/50 internet sex program! It's hot!"

See? It's all true. You can turn on the radio now and hear the radio personalities do a whole show on "shareware"...

Would anyone predict that in 1992?! when I was at the Boca Amiga Club getting 5 1/4" floppy disks from MOD musicians to upload to my single node BBS?

Hello, I was Napster back in 1992. Wake up!

"Is your dictatorship or communist regime keeping you down? Why not make money like an American infidel? We can show you how!"

The Fly you are perhaps the biggest lunatic I've ever met. "Go advertise your business in that thread", lol, you make your living from reffering people to AP don't you? That's sad, I thought you were going to have put Choker out of business by now. :1orglaugh

Thanks man... It's an honor to have you post in one of my threads :thumbsup

As for Choker's biz -- after feeling my way through Internext, Choker's deal didn't interest me much anymore. The big TGP guys were all complaining about him -- other big guns had already mapped out his business plan or already had finished clones of a Choker system (to keep their programmers busy) -- I was able to hack a clone of his whole system in about 2 hours (minus the Paypal stuff) -- and I don't even consider myself a programmer -- I'm an idea person that likes to play around with simple scripts for fun -- so you can see the barrier to entry for Choker's system... Choker can only stay on top of that game if he works his ass off... There's no room for slacking in what he is doing -- because the competition is very technically oriented -- and these guys are excellent at duplicating scripts -- programmers work for peanuts -- and on the other side you are attacked by weakness in the technology... -> hackers

He works hard and it will pay off for him -- I'm just not willing to work that hard. Webmasters just get more technically oriented -- that has been the trend... When I finished highschool, a degree in computer science was RARE -- by the time I was finished with college, the computer science field was completely over-saturated... and that will continue until C programmers work as cheap as Photoshop "artists". As more and more kids leave highschool with a PHD in computer science...

Rotating galleries have little intrinsic value... That's not it. It's just getting the porn to the surfer faster and easier. There will be hundreds more 50/50 programs and hundreds more TGP's and hundreds more gallery rotators and who knows what else... Everyone will be looking for nickles and dimes in this shit eventually except the very hard working people, the people that always have really good ideas, the people that know how to network and skim a % here and there, the guys with really fucking hot models that know how to exploit them, etc... but these people are few and far between as the technological barrier to entry falls... eventually it will balance out as the # of genetically predetermined technologically oriented humans find their place in society -- but that could be 100's of years from now. For now I sit on GFY, listen to my friends, and hang out at the conventions, watch and listen and look to the future for blips in the Matrix.

Choker says, Milk the 50/50 programs AND the TGP's -- I'll just skim a little from each of them and I make money... He takes some small amount of value from the TGP in exchange for making their life easier... And for the 50/50 program he makes advertising easier, at the expense of not doing it more effectively (albiet tediously) themselves... Everyone saves some effort and Choker works his ass off and makes that money fairly... but the guy has to work his ass off -- he can't just hire somebody to run that shit... Look now he has to battle the hitbotters and he's got to recruit programmers and instruct them to have it do this and that... big servers, etc. etc. That's all hard work that I'd rather not do :) I don't want to be at the top of something unless it's easy for me to get there AND stay there... too much responsibility otherwise... If Choker is ever big enough he will probably sell the whole thing for a bazillion dollars to lord knows who maybe Satan himself and he can retire when some extremely wealthy person steps in and decides to throw in some middle management and take the company into the next 100 years...

Meanwhile I will be chillin and painting landscapes, jogging, and hanging out with friends, going to my favorite places, playing pool or chess or just talking... essentially living my life as easily as possible, without having to prove to anyone how hard I can work... I work smart, not hard. I use the least amount of effort to do everything in my life -- except for my friends and family when they need it...

But nobody needed my life story... I'll be back later -- going for a walk.

Kimmykim 04-21-2003 04:07 PM

Well I'll just admit I didnt bother reading all but the last couple and half the first post in the thread.

I'm surprised tho, normally Pete's promos start out with something along the lines of "so and so didn't pay me for two weeks work..." or other nonsense.

Sad, really.

I think the newbs will still stay in this gig even if they can make $50/month... For some kids in college that's 10 pitchers of beer... and they will continue to saturate it, as long as it's fun and easy...

Oh geez, now I really am glad I didn't read this thread. I can count on one hand the people that started when I did that are still around and doing well... and on a Texas Instruments Scientific Calculator with all the good functions I might be able to tally up the number of people that have come and gone for good. Not coming back checking boards or shit like that, just gone for good.
