Thanks man... It's an honor to have you post in one of my threads :thumbsup
As for Choker's biz -- after feeling my way through Internext, Choker's deal didn't interest me much anymore. The big TGP guys were all complaining about him -- other big guns had already mapped out his business plan or already had finished clones of a Choker system (to keep their programmers busy) -- I was able to hack a clone of his whole system in about 2 hours (minus the Paypal stuff) -- and I don't even consider myself a programmer -- I'm an idea person that likes to play around with simple scripts for fun -- so you can see the barrier to entry for Choker's system... Choker can only stay on top of that game if he works his ass off... There's no room for slacking in what he is doing -- because the competition is very technically oriented -- and these guys are excellent at duplicating scripts -- programmers work for peanuts -- and on the other side you are attacked by weakness in the technology... -> hackers
He works hard and it will pay off for him -- I'm just not willing to work that hard. Webmasters just get more technically oriented -- that has been the trend... When I finished highschool, a degree in computer science was RARE -- by the time I was finished with college, the computer science field was completely over-saturated... and that will continue until C programmers work as cheap as Photoshop "artists". As more and more kids leave highschool with a PHD in computer science...
Rotating galleries have little intrinsic value... That's not it. It's just getting the porn to the surfer faster and easier. There will be hundreds more 50/50 programs and hundreds more TGP's and hundreds more gallery rotators and who knows what else... Everyone will be looking for nickles and dimes in this shit eventually except the very hard working people, the people that always have really good ideas, the people that know how to network and skim a % here and there, the guys with really fucking hot models that know how to exploit them, etc... but these people are few and far between as the technological barrier to entry falls... eventually it will balance out as the # of genetically predetermined technologically oriented humans find their place in society -- but that could be 100's of years from now. For now I sit on GFY, listen to my friends, and hang out at the conventions, watch and listen and look to the future for blips in the Matrix.
Choker says, Milk the 50/50 programs AND the TGP's -- I'll just skim a little from each of them and I make money... He takes some small amount of value from the TGP in exchange for making their life easier... And for the 50/50 program he makes advertising easier, at the expense of not doing it more effectively (albiet tediously) themselves... Everyone saves some effort and Choker works his ass off and makes that money fairly... but the guy has to work his ass off -- he can't just hire somebody to run that shit... Look now he has to battle the hitbotters and he's got to recruit programmers and instruct them to have it do this and that... big servers, etc. etc. That's all hard work that I'd rather not do :) I don't want to be at the top of something unless it's easy for me to get there AND stay there... too much responsibility otherwise... If Choker is ever big enough he will probably sell the whole thing for a bazillion dollars to lord knows who maybe Satan himself and he can retire when some extremely wealthy person steps in and decides to throw in some middle management and take the company into the next 100 years...
Meanwhile I will be chillin and painting landscapes, jogging, and hanging out with friends, going to my favorite places, playing pool or chess or just talking... essentially living my life as easily as possible, without having to prove to anyone how hard I can work... I work smart, not hard. I use the least amount of effort to do everything in my life -- except for my friends and family when they need it...
But nobody needed my life story... I'll be back later -- going for a walk.
