    Somebody from CNN said they were going to release his identity. But he apologized and they will not post it.

    If CNN just released his info. Probably not an issue. Just journalism. But this may be different.

                                          Obviously CNN is not worried about them taking any action, and warning was just a cluck bait. And I can't really see them giving a fuck about exposing anyone when its a dig at Trump.

                                          Is there any unwritten laws in the USA about who you can't touch when it comes to political douching?

                                          I know a check with zeros will do it, what else is there?

                                              Politicians and celebrities, i.e.; *public figures*, are exempt from parody and critical defamation generally.

                                              Defamation needs to be proven by monetary harm to receive* damages, like unable to contract or work. If a politician cannot get reelected because the public dissed him to his demise -- he is shit out of luck.

                                                                      CNN is not publishing "HanA**holeSolo's" name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again. In addition, he said his statement could serve as an example to others not to do the same.

                                                                          That is their online story about how it went down. However Reddit has a track that shows it was the opposite of that. CNN has zero credibility these days, and sad that I trust Reddit users more on this.
