New Technology Gives You Incredible 20/12 Eagle Vision
Laser eye surgeons have developed a new laser device that gives you up to 20/12 and better vision. This means you can see nearly twice as well as 20/20 eyesight.
The procedure is called Wavefront Technology. It takes Lasik one step further by correcting ultra-fine aberrations. It also eliminates past glare and halo problems which regular Lasik sometimes produces in patients at night. The specialized laser machine costs $50,000 and uses satellite mapping technology to build a 3-D image of the lens and cornea of the eye so the lasers can be targeted with greater accuracy than previously possible. The image is then copied to disk, which is loaded into the laser targeting software to guide the lasers in the 5 minute procedure on each eye. Wavefront was originally developed for astronomers to compensate for atmosperic distortions, and today allows opthamologists to measure previously undetectable imperfections on the eye's surface. Dr. Yunhee Lee at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens Florida and Dr. Stephen Brint of Brint-Daubert Laser Vision in West Palm Beach are offering the procedure for $2,250 to $2,900 per eye. Primary beneficiaries of the enhanced vision sharpness will be athletes and jet fighter pilots. Pretty amazing.

Wavefront is available since 2001 in Montreal and Europe.
Zyoptix wavefront correction is currently undergoing FDA clinical trials in the US, where it will probably be available for sale in 2004 http://www.laservue.net |

...and whats to prevent an earthquake from happening during the procedure?
Damn Im seriously thinkin about it tho.. I'm nearsighted and I hate wearing glasses, having to clean them all the time so they are spotless, forgetting where I put em, etc... Having 20/12 vision, thats very damn appealing to me.
