Branding a new domain name - should I use 'porn' in light of new law?

I am starting a site and I want to brand the domain name for the long haul - and in light of this new law about misleading domain names etc - should incorporate the word 'porn' 'adult' 'xxx' 'sex' into the domain name to play it safe?

It obviously much easier to have an easier name to remember if it's smaller and without these terms.

Your thoughts...

As long as it's got something to do with the adult industry then it's okay, doesn't necessarily mean you need to have porn or sex in the domain name, or something sexual for that matter. Erotic is still fine, just make sure it's not mortgagequotes.com or some shit.

Why take a chance ? No one knows how this domain crap is going to play out. Play it safe- If the site is good, surfers will bookmark it anyway. Unless you have a great type-in name.

1. The name of this corporation is Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (the "Corporation").

2. The name of the Corporation's initial agent for service of process in the State of California, United States of America is C T Corporation System.

You're pretty much fucked if the FBI says it's a no no, no matter what offshore registrar you use.

I think the latter part of your reply is the most important thing to go by..

I don't think they'd go after anyone unless the domain name showed an obvious attempt to deceive.

This is yet another US law... It does not concern anyone operating outside the US ... long live freedom :-)

But yea.. whitehouse.com is contentious when kids expect to see some pics of the "US leader" grinning stupidly.

Yeah, Bill Clinton and the infamous Stained dress, that is a fine representation of your leaders at work.
I think I would rather have kids go to the real whitehouse.com, at least I would know what they are seeing.
