What was the starting infield of the baseball team you grewup with?

What was the starting lineup of the baseball team you grewup with?

Ok heres mine;

Steve Garvey 1st base
Davy Lopes 2nd base
Bill Russel Short stop
Ron Cey 3rd base
Steve Yaeger Catcher

I don't think you can name a better infield than that for their time.

Who do you remember seeing when you were a kid and went to games?

1B, Ernie Banks
2B, Glenn Beckert
SS, Don Kessinger
3B, Ron Santo

I grew up with the great Chicago Cubs and Ron Santo as my hero...
Yeah JoesphS, the Dodgers had a great infield as well in the early 70's, it was always a debate who was the better 3rd baseman; Santo or Cey, there was no question Santo was The Man., at least i'd always pick him. Ironic because Cey ended up with the Cubs in the 80's.

Any way you look at it, Cubs Win!

Hi Xerox! Thanks! Now we have over 50 free games and growing!

DTK , what team and year was that?

This is the year I remember having the most fun at Chavez Ravine as a kid! Watching the boys in blue kick ass on the big red machine with Pete Rose and battle the SF Giants!
Four guys had 30 homers or more each that year!
That's when they played for the game more than the millions.
We beat the phillies to get to the World Series and lost 4-2 to the Yankees that year!

Thats your team Steve, ChrisH and Georgio!

That was the year Reggie Jackson hit 3 monster homers in the 6th game to take it all! One of them off the Fuckin lightpost!
Man they dont make baseball like that anymore!
Although the Angels were pretty exciting to watch last year with their rally monkey and all.

Check it out here! 1977 I bet way before most of you porn webmasters were even born. hehehe
http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/LAD/1977.shtml

This is a GREAT Baseball site! Lookup your favorite team here too!

Yeah after all those drugs Daryl Strawberry cant remember any more too!

I think his problem was coming to work each day and seeing those big powdery white lines going up the first and third base lines and not being able to snort it all.

Gary Carter was great! Went to my highschool Culver City High!

And Hey Buzzard! Its a beautiful day in LA today.. as Earnie would say.. Lets play two!

Any of you play fantasy baseball leagues?

definitely. Funny thing was growing up my father was a hardcore Dodger fan. I mean dragging us to games every weekend, making us wear the shirts and the whole nine. I still remember as a youngster watching Reggie Jackson hit his 500th homerun..
