I learned the hard way when I thought the wheel was gonna come off the trailer, it was the bearings that blew out. $80 bucks to tow it home on a flatbed. Hell of a hard time to find a company to do that on a late Sunday night. Thats when I joined a boat club with water assistance and towing. Great info here, I wonder if a tranny cooler is expensive and who puts them on, I guess I may just research that locally. Dunno, if I need it on a caddie seville or not. Everytime I cruise over 60mph, I hate the feel of the weight behind, me, I swear the engine takes a beating sometimes. Probably doesn't, its my paranoia. I know keep the engine oil changed! Ya ought to see those at the ramp look at me as I bury the Seville into the Atlantic with the trailer [LOL]..... J/K, don't dip my mufflers in. |

I cant believe i dont have any actual photos of mine. Seems most of the photos i have are of people on the boat.. not the boat itself.

Lee,
An aux. tranny cooler will cost about $90 - $150 to buy, and take any mechanic an hour of labor or 2 to install. Simply cut existing lines and splice new ones in, then mount the cooler ( looks like a small radiator ) where it will get air, normally in front of the exisiting radiator. Brakes can not be added to a trailer easily, you'll need to buy a new trailer if you want them, although if the weight of the boat and trailer together is under 2,000 pounds you probably don't really need them. farbie |
