How would you define ?Shaving? as in shaving sign ups.

I am trying to explain my friend what exactly shaving is but can not formulate it into a nice sentence, any ideas?

I have this but it doesn?t sound right? To not count a join after a set number of joins.

A method in which the sponsor company removes a certain percentage of sales OR otherwise does not give credit for specific signups.

Example: Not crediting webmasters on x percentage of signups
Example: Not giving credit to webmasters on a specific type of payment method (ie: check signups)
Example: Redirecting traffic to dialers for specific countries
