These are Lake Trout..... and Located in Oshawa Ontario, they come up from lake ontario, we get the Salmon in the fall

There's some large lake trout...we call 'em mackinaw. I'm not a big fan due to the depth you gotta catch them at...the come up like an old boot and look like an inflatable raft by the time they get to the surface.

From time to time, I did quite a bit when I first moved there. Now I enjoy watching them more. The kids dont like fish, and I dont want to kill it, if I am not going to eat it.

Yeah I understand that concept, but why torture them just to get my jollies.

Like I said I love to sit and watch them, especially in the fall when the salmon are running. Those fuckers are huge.

Welp, I don't try to torture them but sometimes its a "bloodY" release and they end up floating.

Now, when it comes to stinger-rays, I fillet the mouth to get my hook back!

The saltwater undersize eating fish [reds, trout, pompano, mengrove snapper, spanish mackeral, flounder etc], I let him go with hook deep in the mouth if it won't come out.

Your right don't keep what your not going to eat.

Anyone into shrimping? Just tried my hand at it this year and the season is over in less than a month.
