1 New York Rangers $84,977,085 2 Dallas $67,275,169 3 Detroit $66,085,756 14 Anaheim $41,282,500 24 Ottawa $27,925,000 - 1st overall in NHL points so money doesn't buy cups. it buys players. detroit has how many 500+ goal players? how many future hall-of-famers? how many pucks did they put past giguere? after next year's CBA buying a cup will be history. it just got an early start this year. |

i don't think any team will have that kind of success in the future. just look at what happened to montreal once the league and the payrolls expanded. the talent is too diluted to put together a dynasty again. i'm just venting because my team is sucking ass in the playoffs too. you watch them all year sitting at the top of the standings and the playoffs come along and they act like they are playing in october. grrrrr..... oh well, take it easy.... |

funny thing is.. there are only two actual american born players on 'my' team. they are all canadian and russian... what that has to do with anything, i dont know. but, the thing is, as a girl, i really am not interested in sports. basketball to me has gotten waaaaaay to.. well, its all about the money, and there are too many players who get in trouble all the time... and football to me.. i dont understand. they have the ball, run and fall down. get up and do it again. have 20 minutes of commercials, to come back for 5 more minutes of running, kicking, jumping and wrestling. oh sorry.. tackling (remember.. im a girl. this is how i see it.) i kinda did get into it during the super bowl, but i dont even remember who played. only that the team i picked to win, won. and baseball.. well, they are always on strike. but my sports.. well, i like horse racing, jai-ali (?) soccer, and dog shows. call me old fashioned |
