New processors are now blocked from receiving updates on old Windows (7/8.1)

haha fucked up on so many levels

The new policy was announced in January of last year and revised slightly a couple of months later: Kaby Lake and Ryzen processors, and all new processors on an ongoing basis, would only be supported in Windows 10. Windows 7 and 8.1 would continue to support older processors, but their chip compatibility was frozen.

who cares? windows 7 is close to a decade old by now... windows 8 is garbage... and upgrade to win 10 is still free... so why wouldn't one just upgrade to 10?

Because Win 10 is sht and mostly cloud-based. Everything you do on it can basically be live-streamed back to Microsoft...In which they easily sell off your browsing behaviour to advertisers...And who knows where else. Win10 is like Malware ...And should just b called Live Monitored Windows

another major windows hack released today. all versions prior to windows 10 affected.

                  most damaging release yet -

                  https://arstechnica.com/security/201...g-release-yet/

Maybe it was deliberate. they wanna force everyone to Windows 10...so it's easier to live monitor ,and get live meta-data of the entire population at once.

I am on Win 7 and I don't have any reason to upgrate. It's stable and simple.

Tried Win 8, it was horribly nasty and stupid.

Win7 or 8 is fine as long as u have decent anti-virus and firewall.

seems microsoft's tryn to scare everyone to Win10.

I might be wrong, but it seems like this NSA software that was leaked by hackers (and now available to anyone) can get into any Windows machine prior to Win10. Seems like (and again I don't know) this NSA software wouldn't be stopped by a simple firewall.

step into the future, nothing wrong with being monitored, although you can turn these settings off, not using cloud.

Although, If you don´t think 7 was monitored or connected, you´re wrong...

devices used to sync on 7, they´ve been following you around for years

Why do you try to use old software on a new hardware build?

Learn to use LINUX or pay for the Windows edition that is current.

Windows os is bloated and overpriced -- adapt or die

I would like to see winxp working with new hardware and games. The thing with windows, they always add new features which dont have any other use but to slow down loading time. For example, win 10 service pack 1 is forces you now to use windows defender.

i bought i7 6th gen laptop, only to find out i cant install windows 7 on it and there were no drivers for some of the hardwares for windows 7.

so i sold it and got i7 3rd gen laptop/
