My dear republican friends... don't say I never gave you anything.

My dear republican friends... don't say I never gave you anything.

So Joshua G / Dynamo / JohnnyClips was right. There are some dumb libs. On FB anyway. sigh...

I had joined an FB site, and started noticing lots of links to Anti-Trump news stories, and the expected "libby" rage that followed.

(For the record, I'm a libby).

Everyone in the thread was losing their shit because the OP linked to a page (that was suspended by the way, saying that Sean Spicer said that "THE US IS READY FOR WORLD WAR 3" in a press conference, today.

How hard is this to verify? Of course its super easy. But people were losing their minds today about this, despite not actually seeing or hearing it for themselves.

Another "headline" linking to a similar story was equally spooky, but the link worked. This time, I noticed that the site looked kind of bad. It was covered in ads, with a URL that contained things like US-News.something.something.else. The URL looked legit at first glance, but a second look showed you it was not right.

Searching for the headlines on other reputable news sites yielded no results. A WHOIS looking showed the domains registered way-over-there somewhere, the day before yesterday. It was easy to see that this was a fake news site after only 5 minutes of basic digging that every Internet user should know by now.

So I start pointing out this "fake news" sites, and boy did I get slammed for doing it. From my fellow libby's!

When more fake news sites popped up, I pointed it out, and showed people how to spot them, how to search, what the fuck a WHOIS search is, etc etc.

And guess what? I got slammed again, and I got banned.

    (Me! Banned! Fathom the concept!)

So anyway, the take away from this is: There are idiots everywhere, on both sides of the fence. And there are fake news sites everywhere, on both sides of the fence. It sucking fucks that these days it may be harder for people to learn whats true about important people and events in the world, but I guess that this is the new reality.

The only thing we can do is be smart. Try to identify whats real and whats fake. If its on FB, report it as fake. Be more diligent. Read, question & research before you instantly share.

    /rant.

Personally, I look at sites like huffpost, talkingpointmemo, the hill, ect.ect the same as I look at RT or brietfart..

Most of these sites make up ridiculous headlines for click bait so people post them on social media.

There are idiots everywhere. I grew up in a small, very conservative town so many of the people I went to high school with are far right wingers and very religious. So, as you might expect, many of them thought Obama was a Muslim and a terrorist and was going to destroy the world.

One guy I went to school with posted a link to a story that showed a picture of Obama giving a speech. The story explained that Obama had removed the regular curtains that normally hung in this room in the White House and replaced them with a "Muslim prayer rug." My former classmates were up in arms about this and were calling for his impeachment. Two minutes on Google showed that the truth was those were curtains that were installed back when Rosevelt was President and they appeared in numerous pictures of every President since then.

When I pointed this out a few people actually admitted they were wrong, but there were some that insisted it was a prayer rug. My favorite response was the person that said, "Just because my opinion isn't correct, doesn't mean I'm wrong."

On the flip side, I now know liberals who truly believe that Trump has canceled Obamacare and that they are now going to not only have their health insurance taken away, but they will be fined for not buying health insurance, which makes no real sense.

ANYONE can create a web page.

Now imagine if you have unlimited funds - like, um, Russia - and you can hire one thousand people to write and post bullshit stories.

The vast majority of people don't check or verify anything. They just say "oh, it's on a news site so it must be true".

As long as the headline is what they want to hear it's all good..It used to mostly be a far right thing with all the radical radio guys on the AM dial.. Making ridiculous claims just to keep their listeners attention so they got good rating for the advertisers. Sadly, now with the internet and all these "blog news sites" like Huffpost, brietbart ect..ect it's now just about getting views for advertisers so they make ridiculous click bait titles so it's sure to get posted to the social media links..

Right... and that really sucks. Of course they need the viewers to make money, but which media outlet are people supposed to believe?

I used to watch just CTV. Today I still watch it, but also CNN, MSNBC, CBC, BBC, and read more stuff online than I ever did. It's exhausting. While the only sites that flat-out lie are sites like Breitbart and Infowars, sometimes there are differences between CNN and CBC. Small differences, but differences nonetheless.

That's amazing, and yet I read something about this kind of thing recently. For some reason it is much harder for certain people to see truth over their own opinion. I'm sure psychologists are having a field day these days...

I agree. It's so weird. I got sucked into following a few news feeds and then I followed more and more. I've decided that Facebook is the worst place for news. From now on I'll just use it to stalk old ex girlfriends like FB was intended for. Bah!

There are so many ignorant and uneducated people in both camps, I have seen disgusting Trump supporters but the same goes for left.

It's a huge problem seeing the mass of fake news around the internet and add impulsive behavior to the mix.

I need to relax far away from drama.

the issue is not that there are dumb people on both sides.

the problem is that breitbart. infowars does not pretend to be biased. CNN does! NYTimes does! they act like they are telling truths when don lemon literally refuses to report news on susan rice. instead of reporting, they tell their viewers what to think. hence...dumb libs...

meanwhile the pretending-to-be-journalists have a chokehold on the most critical communications channels in the country. when CNN tells a lie like "hands up, dont shoot," then an NBA player puts his hands up on the basketball court, & beyonce sings the lie to a superbowl audience, & TV shows like disney channel parrot the lie...

thats how 5 cops get murdered in dallas.

Time is not on their side though, shit comes to the surface a lot easier in our connected world.

These are Jewish networks. The propoganda arm of the Zionist-occupied state.

The Rabbis teach young Jewish kids to NEVER tell the truth to the goyim...and you can be sure that this is drilled in to the Gentile employees of these Jewish-owned networks. That's why the Jewish OP can say "I'm a libby" with a straight face, even though JEW is his political, as well as religious and ethnic affiliation.

Democrats cried foul, and a war on fake news after the election was over.

But Republicans would of done the same, if results were opposite.
