Yea, I just noticed that too. No idea. Can't get through to them via phone - if they are having a problem, I'd much rather them focus on the problem than answer my call ;) -

fyi, here the latest update
Our engineers are in the process of bringing power back to the datacenter now. It should not take long.
Once power is restored, we will begin the task of checking everything to make sure it is functioning properly. Our entire Emergency Response Team is on site and will be working to get everything restored as quickly as possible.
We cannot apologize enough for this outage. Thank you for your patience.Comment

My main host had a datacenter-wide power failure the other week so I decided to get a backup server at NationalNet just to avoid this. I can't believe the irony.
Hopefully everything is restored soon on their end.Comment

Hey Everybody....
Sorry for the issues today. Just a quick update on what is going on....we did experience a full power loss to the Data Center today. The person who basically said "this is not suppose to happen" is actually very much correct. People pay us to make sure that we have redundancies but, as much as I hate to admit it, all of our redundancies failed us today. It can happen but that still does not make it acceptable. It is not acceptable to me, either, I can promise.
Our entire Emergency Response Team is onsite and working on the issue now. The power has been restored but now the team is working to bring the internet back up. IT is still a process but we are diligently working on it.
We will be posting updates at NationalNet Updates
Thanks for your patience and know that we are very sorry for this issue.

ive been with nn for over 5+ years. They have excellent support and service thats why i stick with them. Their techs go above and beyond for me. But, i think a complete outage was probably avoidable especially with redundant backups and most likely seemed due to human error. Thats the frustrating part especially when this happend a few years ago as well.Comment

Dude why are you still carrying on about this fire? it's like 8000 miles away in another country. You're obsessed with this fire. Are you a pyro or something?Comment

Hey Everybody....
Sorry I have not been posting in this thread but we have been keeping the Updates site updated throughout the event.
Thanks for the kind words guys. We work really hard everyday to make sure that we do a great job for our clients but sometimes an issue is simply unavoidable. What makes this one so hard for us to swallow is that we spend literally millions of dollars in Generator Redundancy only to have it fail. We even go so far as to use Caterpillar Generators even though they are more expensive because they are just so durable. The issue today is that the system that should have told them to engage simply failed and we still are not sure why. They were ready and able but nothing told them to crank up. Now, in addition to all of our own Emergency Response Team, we now have dozens of contractors in the building doing their investigation as to why the system did not properly operate. We will not rest until we know exactly why this happened.
Currently we have more than 97% of the servers back online and are feverishly working on the remaining 3%. I hope it will not be too much longer before we are at 100% but we will keep the Updates Site posted on our progress.
Thanks, again, for your patience and for your support. This is a bad day for us, but this will pass and we will back to work making sure our customers have the best hosting available.

I cant apologize enough for this issue. We still have a small handful of customers who are experiencing a loss due to hardware issue or corruption issues. These issues simply take time to overcome. Most of the corruption issues are being restored from back up and the hardware issues are simply replacing the affected components.
Again, this is a very small handful of customers but for them it is catastrophic so I do not want to downplay your frustration. I totally get it. I will work with each of you personally when this is all over to see how we can help you get through this tough time. I am even willing to feel your pain financially, too. We stand behind out customers no matter what.
Just know that we are busy getting these last servers online and we will not stop until we are back to 100%.
Thanks for your patience and your support.Comment

Remember when Amerinoc sold out to another company and never told anyone? Our only indication things had changed were people posting here about service outages, turns out servers were being copied over and some being moved to new facilities, or something like that, for a very few the move was catastrophic & they lost everything for most, no issues other than some down time.
Clearly it's not the same scenario with NatNet just brought back bad memmories and the reminder for a backup host. I hope everything turns out for the best for NatNet and all their customers sooner than later

Yea, my things are back. Tried to call them yesterday, but no answer was hoping to validate it's a hosting issue, not s a DNS issue. Oh well.
Sucks though. Looks like this could be impacting us for a few of weeks, may need to move a migration we had planned for Wednesday - and this week was the only window we have in a while to do this.
Hope your things come back online soon.Comment
