shale is ramping up. nobody is following OPECs production cuts. its a joke.
how is he going to sell 500,000 of them by the end of next year? how will he even produce that many, at all? never made that many before. tesla is no toyota or GM or VW group, not even close. hopefully the car is not a lemon. cheap gas + poor quality = bad stock price. you been warned. ![]() |

Whether gas is cheap or expensive, I don't care. Will only buy another EV, and chances are, my next one will be a Tesla.

Europe is a way bigger market than the USA with more than 743.1 million people.
And with gas prices hovering around ( March 20th 2017) $6.7 a gallon in the UK. $6.57 a gallon in Germany. $8.28 a gallon in Norway. They are looking to Hybrids or electric cars. Thats a huge market for Musk to tap into. |

Well either way you need to burn coal to make electricity, dam rivers & kill migrating fish, put up gross looking eagle killing windmills or gross looking solar panels on roofs that lower property value of surrounding houses. Whatever gets you through the night

lets remember something. its takes HOURS to charge this car. now put 500,000 of them on the road. how many chargers are out there? not nearly enough to handle 500,000, not in europe, not in USA. & people have to wire their garage ($$$) to install a plug for the car. 500,000 sales? with gas heading down to 2 bucks in the USA? musk has never built so many cars in his life. The cars he has built have terrible reliability records from consumer reports. the cars need new motors & batteries all the time. a train wreck is coming. i'm going to enjoy all the hipster mark princes, sitting in huge electric lines like apple fanbois, waiting hours for a charge, while i fill up on 87 & leave mark prince choking my fumes. ![]() |

I tend to agree with Joshua here at least for the short to medium term but changes are coming in the lithium ion batteries that shouod triple the output and make them more stable. I think at that point we could be looking at a viable market for electric vehicles...even 1 and 2 person drones that would pilot themselves eventually I think realistically that is the only real threat to gasoline cars even well into the future

I own a Tesla and it's a great fucking car. Doesn't matter if it's EV or not, it's still a great car. It takes an hour to charge on a supercharger. I don't have a special plug to charge it at home. Charging stations are now everywhere. It'll sell.

musk already sent a note to customers about how superchargers are not meant for local use. its gonna be a bloodbath. fights will break out at tesla superchargers cause people been waiting hours, & someone cuts the line. the more it sells, the more its gonna be a nightmare for customers. especially when they got built on a rush & break down every week. have you read about working conditions at tesla? ![]() |

Didn't Tesla get +400,000 pre-orders.
Gas prices since the pre-orders have not gone down. Not to mention not a single person I know that ordered one said anything about gas prices in the list or reasons they want one. They want one for the cool factor (think Mac) They want one because they don't drive long distance and don't see issue with charging it over night etc. They want one for the self driving, safety features, etc. Will there be issues if all cars were to become EV's over night,.. yes, Is the EV market for everyone,.. no, Will some people buy or not buy based on the price of gas,.. sure, In the end the EV market is not a small market, and I woudl expect that they hit their 500k figure given the majority of that is already on pre-order by people willing to wait a considerable amount of time to get delivery of a car they have not really ever seen. Once production start rolling the units out one can assume those not willing to do a pre-order and wait for a basically unseen car will order one, or be more likely to order one. |

I want a Tesla (the current ones) because they are fast as fuck and VERY cool to drive.
I rode in one down in Miami right before Christmas. It was an awesome vehicle. And the control center console was unreal. |

your argument is based on the very false premise that the # of stations will not go up when demand goes up and that people will keep not getting home plugs...

I want an electric car because I'm partially deaf (high Tones) and in an electric car I can actually hear people talk. Anyone whose hard of hearing is a potential customer.

A change from what? I've wanted a Tesla ever since the original roadster.
When a company makes something that is cool...people will buy it. I also want a 1950's era Morgan. I like cool cars. ![]() |

If done poorly, perhaps. DDT is the #1 killer of Eagles, followed by electrocution, then Lead (When they eat dead animals shot by hunters), followed by Gabbitat Destruction. Windmills are not on the list. Source And before you ask "what about the other birds", here's a handy-dandy chart: ![]() And exactly what is more gross looking? A tall wind turbine surrounded by green grass and tress (or ocean) and fresh-smelling air? ![]() Or an oil tower spewing out black oil, killing everything around it and poisoning the air, ground and water for years? ![]() They aren't gross looking to me, but ok, it's relative. If you want solar but don't want solar panels, you now have solar tiles: ![]() Says who? According to Forbes, "A group of California economists looked at that question in a recent study and found that on average, homeowners in California who install photovoltaic solar panels to power their homes can recover nearly all the investment costs if they move--and that’s on top of the annual energy savings.". Source Come on man. Don't be lazy. Peace.
