is there anything major that Mac can do, which no PC can perform any faster?
if you think there is, you're mistaken.. with all the PC hardware technology out there, you can build some serious kick-ass systems.. not to mention the variety of software that is available.. |

2) print to an ip based printer 3) refresh my 23" Cinema Display 4) boot up 5) install any zeroconf network or network appliance 6) run a perl program 7) do a portscan of any other computer 8) do a whois on any domain or ip range 9) open a secure shell 10) share your system via ssh, ftp, http, smb or afp 11) join a wireless network 12) stop popups 13) actually watch an entire 3 hour dvd on the plane without havint to recharge or buy extra batteries 14) share, publish and subscribe to calendars But most importantly.. as a mac use i can turn off windows when i'm done suffering.. i mean testing... :) i'm sure i could go on and i'm sure you'd continue to find excuses like "i can portscan just as fast on a pc'... cept you dont factor in the fact that because mac is unix based you have the ENTIRE unix platform and standard binaries available to you whereas with a windows system you dont actually have any of those tools available to you. Arguing with people who use pc's and genuinely believe they are better is kinda like trying to convince an idiot terrorist that allah isnt the way.... it just doesnt work. |

Sad, the only thing that prevents me from using it is the fucking mouse. 4 grand down the shitter. well that and a complete and utter lack of mac warez. |
Hahahaha! It's funny you say that. I was gonna buy a 15 inch g4 tommorrow just for the hell of it. It's kinda sexy and travels well. The only thing that is making me think twice is the fact that I can't right click with the mouse to get shit done the same way.
But it's either the G4 or this Ailienware lapdog with the Chameleon cover upgrade. I have hyperthreading on all of my boxes and desktop and it really rocks! So now I am not picky about which OS I use for a laptop until they come with hyperthreading. Until then, mac/xp, it's all the same. I just wish the mouse action was up to par.:( |
If you want to right-click on a mac, plug a two (or three...) button mouse into it. Multiple buttons are supported by the OS.
The single button is to keep things simple for new users, and users who don't need multiple buttons. Apple tried to find a balance between power users and non-technical new users, and I think they do a good job. |
