Would youtube suffer terribly if it BANNED Pewdiepie and other top creators?

The question in the thread title came to mind when I read this:

    https://www.engadget.com/2017/02/22/...-anytime-soon/

What if Youtube DID pull the trigger and ban its top creators. What would the effect be?

    My bet? Nothing.

Vine had 'stars' and regardless of how much eyeballs those vine stars got vine still died.

I think like 90% of youtube traffic goes to music videos while rest to non-music.

I bet most users wouldn't have a clue who Pewdiepie was.

Directly? no. but what if someone capitalized on that and created their own version with some new features better than youtube? Its not that simple of course but competition against youtube would kick a dent in their earnings i'm sure.

              yes a little.

but will pewdiepie and other top creators suffer, i guess not, he has followers and he is like celebrity to those teens . they will follow him wherever he goes. even if he creates his own site and host his videos. he will get advertisers.

Competition is hard though because YouTube is operating at a loss.. The only reason it's still going is because it has Google's deep pockets backing it.

                        YouTube would be fine.

YouTube embarked on the creator program to solidify a solid identity & theme, instead of being a domain with millions of videos.

With the creators hub YouTube has a solid identity to partner up and promote with other entities like Disney, Sony, etc. YouTube wants this to branch out but they don't need it to survive.

He found out about fiverr and paid people to see if they'll do stupid shit, like some amazon river types who sang and danced in a field then held up a sign saying "death to all jews"

Now media is grasping for reasons to call him anti-semitic and a nazi, such as taking a screenshot of a video where he holds his hand up in the fashion of a nazi salute, to showcase like the height of something, but out of context you'd think he's doing the nazi salute...

Check out his recent videos, he does some lulzy trolling about it and some serious videos.

YouTube is a force.. over 1/3rd of the internet uses YouTube

YouTube is like Amazon.. they invest back into the company. YouTube is investing HEAVY in Virtual Reality and oversees

they could lose the top 1000 youtubers and they would be fine
