In today?s hyper-politicized world, the biggest casualty other than common sense and civility has been the Constitution?s First Amendment. In the Age of Trump, praising a president who won a sizeable majority of electoral votes is even enough to create employment problems.
As reported by Constitution.com, Left-wing teachers and academics can get away with saying all kinds of vile things while teaching our children to hate their own country. But for the rare conservative and Trump supporter among the nation?s primary educators? Not so much.
Veronica Fleming, a computer lab instructor at Parkside Elementary School near Naples, Florida, dared to praise the president?s actions on enforcing immigration law on her own Facebook page, and for that, she was ?reassigned to administrative duties,? EAGNews noted.
?The funny part about immigrants staying home is the rest of us who pay for them are here at work like we?ve always been,? Fleming wrote of the recent ?Day Without Immigrants? protest, which was a flop (some even lost their jobs). ?Looks like less mouths to feed today. Have fun while you still can. So glad to hear about massive deportation. Let?s make America great again. Thanks Donald Trump!?
But since most of the students at Parkside and their parents are minorities and recent immigrants, they get to be outraged and have their voices heard. And of course, like the cowards they are, the Left-wing administrators who run Parkside caved to the complaints of parents rather than standing up for their own teacher and her right to speak her mind under the Constitution.
??Selective allowable discrimination? is alive and well in America?s public school system,? Constitution.com noted. ?Liberal teachers literally get away with all kinds of highly questionable and unethical things, but let a conservative teacher express their views on their own private social media pages and they are punished for exercising their First Amendment rights.?
