At the current rate that would take around 1500 years. For 5 bucks it doesn't seem worth the hassle.

It's about 1/3 of a cent a year and something like several thousands of a cent each week.

probably some new guy trying out bitcoin to see how it works, i did that too when i first got into bitcoin, i tipped some guy 5 dollars, those same 5 dollars are worth 50 today or more, most people are hording bitcoins because they think it will be worth thousands of dollars for 1, i believe that too, it's already worth 1232, it's insane,

i wish i could take out a loan and buy a bunch, but my credit is bad and i didn't get approved

The entire digital coin market is nice. A place where you can make a killing day trading. Actually, two week to a month or so trading. But you can swap one currency for another and keep doubling.

I looked at previous transactions using a block explorer, and the address that my tip was sent from was funded with a bunch of small value transactions. I'm guessing it's a public faucet funded by donations.

So you're probably spot on.

Probably about 3 years ago I was paying my hosting bill with bitcoin. If I recall correctly i was paying roughly 1.5 BTC a month for hosting. I stayed with them about 6 months.

I also paid a designer 3 BTC for a damn logo.

Props to those guys for taking the risk. Dumb ass on me for throwing them around like water.

I got in a little late in the game of mining, but it was still profitable. I would make roughly 1-1.5 BTC a day. All total I had probably 100 or so coins. Pissed them all away on stupid shit.

I just found a wallet backup from June 2012 which contains the privkey for that address. That means it's been displayed on my site for at least 5 years, not the 2 or 3 I mentioned above.

So, over a period of 5 years...

...I received a single donation...
