Trump will talk himself into a deep hole tonight addressing the Congress.

He will cost millions of voters money and may kill a few thousand off that will no longer have insurance or be able to afford it.

He promised something "better" -- time to deliver -- we will see ...

So he's going to blow it

        But we will see?

        Cognitive dissonance much?

The vast majority of Obamacare works. Replacing it will just create new problems. They need to fix what we have, not replace it.

              Obamacare works great for me.

Unemployed coal miners get Medicaid funded with Obamacare

Obamacare is as popular in the trailer park as it is in the inner city ghetto.

It's funny watching the town halls where all the people who voted for him, and are on Obamacare, are angry and being labeled as paid protesters, sooooo many votes lost

All I ask is that they don't fuck it up so badly that I, a person with a pre-existing condition, can't buy health insurance like before Obamacare.

You are exactly who they're trying to cut out of the program and evidedently they're working to see how to do it regionally so they don't lose votes in red states and only blue state pre-existing condition people are kicked off to high prices private insurance policies

I was watching something, might have been John Oliver, recently and they were talking about one of the plans that has been put forth is to create high risk pools for someone like me with pre-existing conditions and then give states block grants to help those people pay for the insurance. That is all fine and good, but the estimate is that the grants would need to be somewhere in the area of $170 billion to cover everyone and the amount they were planning on putting into these pools was $3 billion. Obviously, that won't work. I also read that they might make it so the repeal and replacement won't go into effect until 2020 after the election. What kills me is that for six years they have been trying to repeal Obamacare and they have been talking about replacing it and yet they still don't have a system in place.

I have a feeling this is going to turn into one hell of a cluster fuck.

There are a few issues that I can think of off the top of my head.

In each state, there is a marketplace where you can buy insurance. How many different companies are offering plans and how many plans there are to choose from can vary greatly from state to state. My state has a ton of options so the plans are affordable, but there are some states that may only have one choice so they can be very expensive and may not suit your needs.

Another issue is Medicaid expansion. Obamacare is setup in a way where states can expand their Medicaid coverage to more people (mostly poor and sick). The problem is, there are a number of states who have refused the expansion. This means there are potentially millions without coverage.

Speaking of Medicaid, it can also be a problem in and of itself. There are a growing number of doctors who refuse to accept Medicaid patients which means those patients may end up going to the emergency room or urgent care center for treatment. This causes costs to rise and clogs up the ER and urgent care centers.

Mostly, however, the biggest problem is cost.
