    So in an effort to refresh my memory and as always learn....I did check out your links - and learned that no network was ever banned from from White House briefings - and that one reporter was being investigated for leaking highly classified material about North Korea by the Justice Dept for espionage....

    So no I don't believe I'm having selective memory - so I guess we will just have to agree to disagree

    My own personal opinion is that no news organization should ever be banned or for that matter dissed...so if Obama did it (which you are suggesting) I'm equally against that as well.
    There is a reason that Freedom of the Press is a fundamental part of our Constitution...if any American suggests that we should in any way go away from that, then they are no longer an American citizen in my eyes

                Nobody has been banned.
                Obama excluded Fox from being involved in some things and CNN was excluded by Trump.
                But none of them have ever been banned. And they all attended the actual white house press conferences

                Obama however did have his people go after James Rosen and there was not a peep from Democrat politicians.

                Can you imagine if Trump did that to a CNN reporter?

                        I believe that James Rosen was named as a co-conspirator in the leak of classified material under the Espionage Act and the entire House Judiciary Committee including the democrats went after the Attorney General and telling him that basically that was the wrong approach...towards journalists that get someone to leak classified materials
                        Yes both sides of the aisle went ballistic on the DOJ for that

                                    Yep, they tried to say that since he spoke with his source (who was the real target of the investigation)...then that made him a "co-conspirator".
                                    It was pretty flimsy and got knocked down quick.

                                    I think that since Pres. Obama was such a nice guy and talked in a reasonable tone of voice with a calm demeanor...that when he did things "bad", he kind of got a pass on it.

                                    Plus most of the media are card carrying Democrats and really personally liked Pres. Obama (which isn't hard, he's very likeable and charming).

                                    Then you have Pres. Trump.
                                    Combative, aggressive New Yorker who doesn't talk calm and cool or like a nice guy.

                                    So people kind of forget that Pres. Obama deported more illegal immigrants than ANY President in history...while attacking Trump for talking about deportation.

                                    Trump is no politician and seems to be annoyed at the thought of having to be "fake" and talk a certain way to sooth the media.
