[QUOTE=2MuchMark;21552628]He's not dumb. And why do you need to call people names when you are on the losing end of an argument?
First, electric cars are MY thing! Don't credit Crocket with that, grrrr.. and to answer your question, Electricity can come from coal, yes, but it doen't HAVE to. Electricity can be made from Hydro, or Solar, or Wind. That may be true, but again, that is the problem. All of those factories are producing a dirty, expensive inefficient product. If you were going to build an energy company and could do it anywhere in the world, wouldn't you want to build one that is inexpensive, safe, renewable and has access to an unlimited supply of raw energy like the Sun? When you resort to name calling, you've lost the argument.
And look who's calling who "Shit for brains"! It looks like you need some help using the interwebz. Call me whatever you want Vendzilla. I know you have no choice.

Just a small correction - there are currently 99 operating plants And there are currently 24 new ones either being built or in the planning stages - 4 should come online in the very near future And the parts come from China, as well as many other countries - and there is nothing secret about their construction - other than the security and cybersecurity details |

Wow That's so cool!! I have always had a strange fascination with Nuclear power. I've always wanted to visit a nuclear power plant. Maybe this is a stupid question, but do power plants offer tours to the public? Can you just drive up to one and ask for a tour? I would have a serious nerdgasm seeing the inner workings of a power plant up close.

Yes that is what I figured. Simulators are ok but something about looking right into or right at the core would be cool. Scary as hell for me, but cool anyway. I don't know why. Color me geek.

It took the USA like 40 years to defeat the tobacco lobby...The energy lobby is going to get its way untill the sky turns brown...Too much $$$ on the line and the old men in charge will not live to see what happens...

also, what prolly not everyone knows here that coal power plants are not THAT bad as individual house heating from coal...modern coal power plants are - kind of - green... yet of course - not as green as nuclear energy or renewable energy (which is the best, but not so efficient like nuclear). its bullshit about not eating plants because of chernobyl 4000 km away. maybe in Prypec and 100 km around and maybe for the first months. sounds like tommy doesnt know that much about it. among thousands of nuclear power plants there were like 3 quite serious accidents, while old coal power plants (and new ones too..) polluted air like thousands times more Quote:

you cant change human nature. thats why the world looks like it looks and thats why more money is spent on military than - for example - personal and spiritual growth...
heck, who would ever need money in spiritual growth ? |

I was 25 and on a submarine still - but you have no idea how radioactive "trash" or contamination really works
I bet you don't know that all humans are radioactive - not from outside sources - they are born with it - it's called potassium and it's in your bones - so maybe we should never get close to another human as we might get poisoned by their radioactive trash |

everyone seems to be in agreement apart from only a couple that this move of Trump´s bad, so why´s he been allowed to do it without being impeached?
It´s an obvious mistake to the planet we live on! For once, he could have actually got many of us on his side, suggesting solar, wind or more water turbines at sea, creating more jobs! But no, DirtyDon takes a fucking easy road to please his minions... why is this guy still in presidency?

the most radioactive trash (10 % ? ) is stored in special silos under surface...no other way. i think that its still better than fracking and oil extraction :-)
the less radioactive waste is reused or utilized succesfully |

I would like to know more about the energy output and economics of a setup like this. This one reflects sunlight to a boiler to generate steam, turn generators and provide electricity. But regular electric panels convert sunlight to electricity directly. Are they somehow less efficient? If they could use the direct sunlight-to-electricity panels they would save all those birds.

solar is great, yet is not so efficient like nuclear. for economic and physics reasons.
good for small houses with low energy consume, not for the rest |

I think the best comparison I ever heard made was when Rickover was before Congress testifying on nuclear safety, he made the true statement that he had picked up more radiation flying to Wash DC in one flight, then normal nuclear operators get in a year operating a plant |

if Germany can run on renewable energy only (currently it's up to 80+% on good days), everybody else can too
fuck nuclear and fuck coal, technically we're way past that i always wonder what makes people so keen on destroying the planet, must be a lack of long term vison - or simply a lack of intelligence
