People who sit in the front row at the movies..

Why on earth would you ELECT to sit in the front row, or even in the front "section"? I understand if the main seats are full, but when they aren't and some people still choose to sit in front, I am perplexed. What is wrong with these people???

I never understood until I was actually in a situation where I had no choice. Honestly it seems shitty from a back seat perspective, but when your in the front you don't really notice it too much, actually kinda immersive. I still would never sit in the from row given a choice, but when i had too, it was fine. Though theaters may differ, plus the seats can recline a little at my theater.

it's basically what true IMAX is.... same concept, same tricks to the brain.

As someone said "its immersive"... because without screen edges within your field of vision, your brain has a much more difficult time separating itself from whats happening on screen. (bear in mind that your true and actual field of vision is quite small - it doesn't feel that way and thats an illusion - further, most of what you think is "peripheral vision" is either fabricated or memories)

I sit in the front with my family because sometimes the movie is packed and I want to sit in the middle. Plus I'm 6'9" and I need to have leg room so I choose seats where there are bars in front of me for wheelchair accessibility. I'm over being uncomfortable for 90 minutes.

Well, yeah, that's the reason. I, for example, am a kinda small person and I am always entring a cinema with a fear that somebody very tall gonna be in front of me. :D So better sit in the front
