New Paypal Announcment

I have a business account with them and just received this notice

______________________________

We are writing to inform you that PayPal has updated its Acceptable Use Policy to simplify the policy on transactions of adult items. After June 12, 2003, PayPal will no longer process transactions for adult items through the Mature Audiences category on eBay.com. As a result, after June 12, PayPal will no longer process payments for adult items anywhere on the Internet.

PayPal strives to find the right balance between serving our community and minimizing our financial risk. We feel that exiting the Mature Audiences category with a clear and consistent policy for all adult items best achieves this balance.

How This Affects Your PayPal Account

As part of this effort, we are extending the deadline for when PayPal customers must stop sending and receiving payments for tangible adult products, including magazines, DVDs and videocassettes. Originally May 12, this deadline has now been extended to June 12 to correspond with the phase-out of PayPal service for these items on eBay.

The deadline to stop receiving payments for digital adult products and services, including online photos, streaming video and phone or other audio services, will remain May 12 for PayPal merchants who have registered through PayPal's digital adult merchant process. Merchants who have not registered can not process payments for these digital adult products and services at any time.

Click here to read the full terms of PayPal's Mature Audiences Policy.

You may keep your PayPal account open after the respective deadlines of May 12 and June 12, on a good faith basis. Your transaction history will still be viewable online, and you may continue to withdraw funds under your current account guidelines. Reserves for accounts with rolling reserves will continue to operate, with reserves ending 180 days after the receipt of the last transaction. Because you are not being required to close your PayPal account, your account access may be limited if it is determined that your account activity violates PayPal's policy on adult content.

Thank You for Your Business

We apologize for any inconvenience this change will cause, and would like to thank you for your business.

If you have any questions about the Acceptable Use Policy, please feel free to contact your account manager.

Sincerely,

The PayPal Team

Good ol' american values.. Amazing, Christian values taking over in a country where "In God We Trust" is a violation of civil liberties and prayer in schools is outlawed.

We seem to be going with Netbilling, stilllooking for another CC Processor who doesnot want to be a silent partner in our business.

Tthe extra time is helpful.

I for one mourn the passing of Paypal, I think most of the flamers of them were people who tried to take advantage of them, tried to do something they should not of or just swimming with the rest of the fish.

Do you have a list of companies that only do scrubbing/processing?

If you have a merchant acct. you can handle affliate stuff with affiliatetracking.net's software and tie that into one of those in this list: http://www.affiliatetracking.com/inf...tibility.shtml

hth

(btw, people who were using PayPal- see sig)

PayPal does $16million per day in transactions. Multiple that by their "average" of 2.9% and you see they are making $464,000 A DAY, or about $14Million a month. One would think they could hire some real customer service people to handle customers' issues.

Copied from paypalsucks.com

They are right about that, even a creditcard company doesnt charge that much.

Charly,

As an alternate processor, Epoch/Paycom offers gateway services to those with their own merchant accounts. No percentage fees and flat per/tran rate.

Contact [email protected] if you would like to learn more.

charly,

Let us know if you need any help getting setup with us. It is good to have a secondary processor... but honestly, they will almost never get touched with the amount of consistent uptime that we provide.

Thank you, Mitch Farber
