I'm changing the address on my voter registration tomorrow so I can vote for Bush in 2004. Bush stood up to world opinion and proved he was right and the world was wrong. Very courageous.

Unfortunately its true.

There are too many rednecks in the states that are going to vote bush in.

I hope he doesn't get re-elected but there is not a decent democrat runing against him so things dont look too good.

However if the economy keeps the way it is now, you can bet your ass the big companys will see to it that he doesn't get elected.

Hes done a good job, and have no prob with four more years. Then a democrat can come in and maintain status quo for a term.

He stuck to his guns on this iraq issue all along. Even when there was growing opposition. The end result is he was right. Over 70% of americans now support the war. The Iraqis are happy as hell. France, Chertin, Schroeder, Chirac, Micheal Moore and idiots like him, all look like fools and weasels.

You missed the point. It was very fashionable in some circles during the 2000 elections make claims similar to yours to underscore the speakers opposition to Bush. However there
was no vast migration out of the US, and the most notable people are still here. I'm just wondering if you meant it or if you're just talking shit.

Ahh, I hope you aren't assuming that I would like to associate myself with 'those circles' because you'd be WAY off base...

however, in response to your last question, I'd say it's a 80/20 split... 80% I've actually begun to look at other countries to reside in recently, whether or not Bush gets elected in 04 or not... and 20% I'm talking shit...

Right now I consider our current legislation to strip our civil liberties an outrage, and I seriously doubt they'll be restored to what they were pre-9/11... Give an inch take a mile...

As a result I consider this country now just a very expensive non-free country and moving rapidly towards becoming more and more un-free...

This administration can continue to strip away more freedoms, then when we finally vote back over to a liberal democratic administration, they will most likely, crush what is left of our 2nd Amendment rights....also in the name of 'protecting us'....

............... so, why would I want to live in a country that is more expensive for the same amount of non-freedom I can get somewhere else at a lower cost of living? with an equally beautiful climate, culture, etc?

Right now it's just a thought, although a serious one...

Well I'm not condeming you for anything. You've been through a lot more than most people (actual military time) and have justified reasons for what you're saying. As far as the Patriot Act goes...yes, it is an infringement of "freedom". But I prefer some invasion of privacy (I personally have nothing to hide, they can listen to what I say all day long and I don't give two shits) over getting another 2700 US citizens killed along with billions of dollars of our economy taking a beating.

What are you talking about?

The rest of the world is just jealous of the USA because underneath we all know we don't have it as good. We're not quite sure why but 'mericans keep telling us we're jealous so we must be.

Maybe it's that we don't have as much gun crime and we don't have a much choice of fast food. And us heathen Aussies don't worship our flag down here in Australia... so obviously we've gone wrong somewhere.

Just have pity on us... maybe we'll get our act together sometime and our nation will become as wonderful as the USA.

I respect your right to feel this way and hold that opinion....

Personally I have to side with one of our country's founding father's and their statement that goes something along the lines of...

Those that are willing to give up freedom for security, deserve neither...

I know we need to bang some heads, don't get me wrong, I'm all for kicking some terrorist ass... However, my personal experience and opinion tell me that we can do it by other means than stripping the general population's personal freedoms...

This administration is taking the cheap/easy way out....

Why? Because you my friend, are not alone in your feelings, they know that the general American population is willing to give up their personal freedoms for security.

Thus my serious concern for the long-term freedom in general in this country.

If I am to live in a pinko-commy-facist country then I want that shit at rock bottom pricing! ;)

Our only hope is that the ACLU successfully fights and win's their battle in regards the Patriot Act...

If the general consensus of this country's population is now all for giving up their freedoms then I think it is less than worth dying for and I feel sadness for the thousands and thousands of veterans that died before for these freedoms that are now being shredded...

In my opinion I think this administration and this congress and their stripping of our freedoms is spitting on the graves of our previous vets that gave their lives for our country's previous freedoms...

SHAME on Bush, SHAME on this congress for passing the most UN-Patriotic act....

Should we give up our gun rights next for 'safety's sake' ?

Should we give up our right to procreate at whatever rate we feel like for the economy's safety?

Should the government take care of ALL of our needs because we are no longer indepdent self-determined INDIVIDUALs?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions I have two syllables for you to ponder... CHI.....NA

Group Think and Double Speak are now apparently the upcoming traditions and values of this country...

oh, don't be mistaken....Saddam has them...give it time

this war was justified...in my 'opinion'....however I agree that Bush was not the greatest salesmen for it and it appeared to be a 'rush to war' on his part...

as for not being reelected, I"m not so sure about that, as it looks now, unless the economy tanks a bit more, he has a good chance of reelection

Pretty sure the global economy going downhill and the HUGE losses in the US economy (not measurable thus far because it's not over) doesn't compare to research and studies on influenza.

If you answered YES to any of the above questions I have two syllables for you to ponder... CHI.....NA

Group Think and Double Speak are now apparently the upcoming traditions and values of this country...
International terrorism vs domestic issues - two separate topics. This concerns terorrism only, not American drug trafficing or anything else.

Yes, he had tons of chemical weapons amongst other things. Hence the UN resolutions (that he agreed to) for him to destroy all of them.

Don't confuse success with perfection. Just because he's done some good things doesn't mean he's anything close to the best man for the job. George Bush is not a smart man, and not a man who is good for our country.

For example.. George Bush did pretty much what Al Gore would have, except Al Gore would have gotten more international support because he understands foreign policy. We wouldn't have a diplomatic mess to go along with our victory against a little third-world country.

China has about 4 times as many people as the US and an economy 10x smaller than the US. I think a whole lot more people would think that is a good idea under those conditions.

GDP:
USA 10.2 trillion
China 1.1 trillion

Population:
China 1.3 billion
USA 280 million

Jimmy: You said that there are better ways of fighting this issue other than what they're trying to do now. What other ways do you suggest (not being mean and whatnot, asking an honest question).

Aside from that, it really amazes me at how many people think of the government as a terribly bad thing. To me, the rich people in America (those who control large corperations, and force others to do their grunt work) are much more of "criminals" than the government is. One question I ask myself whenever I think about these things is "what's their motivation?"

Why would the US Gov't want to pass things that were harmful for the US people. They're not socialists or dictators that want only what's good for themselves and nobody else. They're looking to be remember "hey, look what I did!". Now, some of the people in the bureaucracies have some issues. Some of the restrains they're placing on Americans (drug laws, seat belts, etc) are trying to take too much control over people. There's a certain point when they're taking things too far and taking away things from people when it is NOT necessary. Let all the crack heads blaze up, natural selection at its best. Not to mention the Gov't could earn quite a bit of money taxing drug sales (yes, 'illegal' narcotics) as well as selling the drugs themselves (they being the only people able to legally market the drugs, thus insuring the purity). Anywho, just going off on a tangent now, so I'll shuttup.

It's not "Dubya" that's doing all of this. He's the figure representing the US choices. There are hundreds and hundreds of people that research every single thing he's ever thought about or spoken about. He's basically the PR figure. His choices are HIGHLY influenced by everybody surrounding him. If he thinks one way and 200 people inform him he's wrong, he'll quickly adjust his thought process to realize his mistake.

The beauty of a functioning democracy...

Why did the media fail to point this little tidbit out whenever they pointed at 'the madman/butcher' Saddam?

This war was pure cinema. Reality TV at it's finest based on so little truth it's not even funny.

Right??? I tought that the pretense was WMD....
Bush wasn't right, he was just a warlord.

"Saddam refuses to disarm" .... Saw what he had as weapons.. didn't last more than 14 days... No chemicals, no biological, no "red circle"... mass propaganda... have a feast.
