    2017 Republicans Health Care Plan

    this is their big plan...

    their gonna tweak a few aspects of obamacare....and then consider 'that' their Repeal and Replace.

    their gonna stand all tall the next day, like they did something big...when they didn't do sht.

    basically stealing ObamaCare and calling it their own.

          They just said live on CNN full repeal with a few years delay so people don't lose coverage. Then replace in that period of time with something they don't know yet.

          That's Republican "leadership"

              They have no idea how complex this whole situation is, and how woefully under-educated and under-prepared they are to "fix" it. They're also unmotivated because they don't give a shit about anyone except their rich friends and themselves.

              You create affordable health care for people because you care about their plight, but Republicans will ONLY do it for the sake of killing something they've had their sights on for years.

                      They had 8 years to figure it out and still couldn't manage to do it. Perhaps in another 4 they will get a proposal on paper...

                              I think this is wishful thinking.
                              1. "Trumpcare" will repeal tax credit advance payments and keep the tax credits in place -- poorer people will not be able to pay.
                              2. "Trumpcare" will reduce the Medicaid requirements.
                              3. "Trumpcare" will assert ''states rights'' and block grant the Medicaid expenditure to each state.
                              4. "Trumpcare" will keep the preexisting coverage requirement and insist that the insured are "risk pooled" They may agree to some subsidy to the insurers so the premium prices do not sky rocket as this would be politically ruinous.

                                  Even the current major (and corrupt) healthcare companies want nothing to do with a quick repeal / replace. which would mean millions of more dollars in changes / updates to their current plans / websites / paperwork , etc.

                                  Republican leadership is in their own world again...on this.

                                      The structure is already there so no increase in government!

                                      The only reason Obama care is having problem is THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ! But out the middleman. If people want extra coverage get an extended policy through a third party insurer.

                                      It's so basic. But the insurance & drug companies own republicans so we're fucked, unless a miracle happens.

Doctors still get a boner when they find out their patient has medicare...since they know (medicare) accepts almost anything...so they can go ahead and charge whatever $ price they want.

                                          To a doctor's mind...when it's the taxpayers paying for it (medicare) , they know there's less oversight and responsibility...so they know they have the green light....and less chance of denial...if their ordering expensive tests for a patient like MRI's , etc..

                                          But also means more of a tab for all us taxpayers.

                                              Do you have any real experience with Medicare? Sure, there are abuses and overcharges, but often not by doctors. There are actually a lot of doctors who will not accept Medicare patients because Medicare pays them less than regular insurance does. Medicare also requires pre-authorization for many things and can be slow and a pain in the ass to deal with.

                                              The people who are making a killing from Medicare are the people that provide physical goods. My mom is 76 and has some health issues. She needed an adjustable bed (like a hospital bed). It was $7,500 and is basically just a metal frame with a motor and remote. The mattress that came with it was just a piece of foam. To get the better mattress, which Medicare paid for after my mom's doctor wrote a prescription, was another $1,200.

                                              To give you an example of how much more these prices are than retail, you can buy a comparable bed from various other places for about $2000-$2,500 and you can get a similar mattress online at places like Amazon for about $250.

                                                  That is a bizarre statement. Many doctors refuse to accept Medicare because Medicare reimburses less, and the paperwork/procedure tom get a payout is a lot more complicated.

                                                              Those tests are typically not ordered because they are trying to pad their pockets, they are ordered to cover their asses. In a sue-happy world, many doctors just check everything so if they are sued they can point out that they did everything they could.

                                                                  I just saw that the Republicans are now talking about passing a $9 billion dollar spending bill to finance Obamacare for the next 12 months while they decide what they are going to do about it.

                                                                  It is becoming more and more clear that Trump wants them to have a replacement in place before they repeal it and they are nowhere near ready to have that.

                                                                  I won't be shocked if they just keep kicking the can down the road until after the 2020 election.
