Anyone else get emotional watching the Iraqis celebrating?

This was the first time during this war that a tear came to my eye watching something on the news. It's just fucking amazing. Saddam's terror on that country is over.

You obviously don't know how it is to be liberated. Have you ever got divorced?

They will run it? HA! I think it is a couple of old retired US generals from what I understand. What was I the only person who saw a solider place a US flag on Saddams statue?

But yes...I did get a little emotional, not as much as the Berlin Wall but it made me get a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Maybe you were the only person who missed it when the soldier took the US flag down and put an Iraqi flag up instead.

There is no Iraqi govt at the moment, and we'll be in there for several years while arrangements for an interim govt, the formation of loyal police, needed infrastructure, and elections are arranged.

It won't be done in a few days or months. It will take 2 or 3 years at least.

Oh no, I saw that but the fact is after the last flag raising in southern Iraq, the US got such slack for looking like invaders and not liberators...that it was a rule not to do it again, so the PR people dont have to work overtime ;) Obviously Bubba didn't get that memo!

What does it matter anyway, who's flag they put up next. The US will be running Iraq for another what 2-3 years? So they are not completely on their own yet.

Why are you guys focusing on the government of Iraq? Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that they will run it because it's not happening *****TODAY****. Yes it will take 2-3 years. What's your fucking point?

The most important thing is that the terror of Saddam is done. I'll go edit my damn post for you nitpickers.

I admit I got a chill when I seen the statue topple over.

But I also get emotional when I pump out a good, solid log and after the second wipe there's no more crap on the toilet paper.

Nothing beats a good healthy shit.

Memories of 1776. We sometimes forget our own short history when we declared our independence from the British.

Its a magical experience to watch a nation become free.

Now the real work begins. And many countries still to go. But time is now on our side.

Democracy is coming to theatres in the middle east. Actually Hollywood is probably salivating right about now thinking ya know how many movie tickets we can sell over there in Iraq. hehehe

No emotion from me for the Iraqi liberation.

Heartbroken to see the young lad named 'Ali' who lost his entire family and both his arms

as a side note - I have been absolutely against this war for this said reason - too many innocent lives lost or devastated to fulfill our head of states political agendas - whatever they may be.

No George just wanted to "bump" the Russians and the French out so all his texas oil pals could take over the oil contracts over there and make lots of money so he'll get lots of donations to get re-elected in '04.

800 civilian lives lost is sad but NOTHING compared to how many Iraqis Saddam has killed and would continue to kill and let starve. Open your eyes my friend.

I personally call those "protective jelly" shits.

Named so because there must be some sort of invisible or translucent protective jelly on the shit to keep it from smearing on things.

Granted I never saw footage of those people, but again, 800 civilian casualties are nothing compared to the terror Saddam has done to his people and how many he would have continued to kill. I find it sad that people would rather see 21 million Iraqis be oppressed and tortured than 800 killed one time in cross fire. I'm no mathematician but come on!
