Italians too. We had email in Italian from some chick from Italy to support at our clipart shop asking where's the stuff she ordered. The shop was English only yet she wrote in Italian like it was completely normal thing to do.
When it's English it's usually basic, primary school level.
I guess it's because Latin then French dominated in Europe for 500+ years each before English took over and they still can't get over it.Comment

Yes I know, it goes down over the Millau bridge, we drove through it when the bridge was first opened. Admittedly this was 10yr back, but the road was full of road works, they must have finished now. Nice to hear it's still a free section!

Councils have created areas for Gypsies to stay, with toilets & showers through out Bedfordshire. It stopped many travelers just making home where they likes & making a mess of the fields & local communities.
There are many of these Gypsy villages around the UK.

In almost every shop, public transports, etc. most people are able to speak at least a little english. Things have changed a lot these last 15 years in France regarding speaking foreign languages.
Are the french that bad in english? Yes, but they are also useless in every other foreign languages
Thing is, our education system is to blame. We focus a lot on theory and learn the basics, which can prove good at some point, but doesn't help a lot to actually communicate in english...
Whereas language education system in Holland, Denmark, Germany etc. is focused on getting a practical english level asap which is clearly a much better way to learn a language
