Well that was nice, 12" of snow dropped on us last night and because these idiots in New England, who supply the power hang it from telephone posts instead of underground we lost power/heating for 9 hours. Ill be so glad when i have finished my business here in Maine to move somewhere warm like Hawaii or back to San Diego. :help me

I miss snow, but obviously to look at & to walk in, not driving & the commotion it creates in idiot countries that don't know how to handle it

I grew up in New Jersey in a very rural area on top of a mountain. When it snowed, the power would go out and would be snowed in for days until the plow came to clear the roads. One year when I was about 13 I had to shovel off the back porch, the walkway, the front porch, and our driveway - which was rather long. I went in for lunch, only to discover I had to do it all over again this afternoon. And the following day would be more of the same. Fuck that. I promised myself as soon as I could I would move some place where it never snowed.
This is why I live in California. We still have seasons, it gets "cold" here, and if I really really really want to see snow it's an hour away. On Christmas morning we made the drive up north, played in the snow - first time in six years - and then drove home to open up presents.
There is no amount of money that can get me to live some place where it snows.Herschel Savage

Only a couple days each winter in the last few years where I say "Fuck this shit" in Chicago either due to snow or crazy negative wind chill. Last really bad snow I remember happened few years ago on the SuperBowl. Don't recall power outages though. More people leaving Chicago due to taxes than weather. My best friend in New York has told me a few similar stories of having a worse winter over the last few years.Comment

Well, at least it's better than what we got in central Canada. Ever have to make a tunnel to exit your house?Comment
