This is understandable and acceptable - The laws he broke were minor compared to the crimes he exposed.

Snowden didn't expose any crimes. Yes, he exposed that our government was collecting meta data on phone calls but (correct me if I am wrong) this was never considered illegal, and no one has ever been charged with a crime. On the other hand, Snowden was the worst leak of classified information the United States intelligence agencies has ever had. Basically he told terrorists how we were trying to track them through Europe and the United States.
One of the things we found out from the Snowden leaks is that our intelligence agencies are allowed to act when doing surveillance and collecting data without a warrant if they feel it is something that must happen right now in order to be effective. They are supposed to then go get a warrant after the fact in order to prove they were acting within the law and in good faith. This has happened a lot, but with one little problem, in many of the cases they never bothered to then go to the court and get the warrant. That is against the law.

This reply you just made makes you look like you either have no idea of what is happening in the news or you are willfully ignoring it to try and make some kind of "statement".
And... if a law was broken the person who stole and or leaked the tax form should be arrested and sent to jail.

Do I want to see his tax forms? Yes. But the law is still the law, and if they believe the law was broken and they can find the person they should be arrested and tossed in the slammer.

The New York Times did not reveal their source.
And apparently Pres. Obama's CIA and FBI didn't feel the need to "investigate" like they did over John Podesta's emails being hacked.

By the way....Julian Assange revealed on the news that Podesta's email account had ZERO security and that a 14 year old child could have hacked it with ease.
He revealed that Podesta's password was: "password"

Yeah, boy. When you're fucking over Bernie Sanders in the primary...maybe you shouldn't email people about it, and if you do...have a good password at least.

And I disagree. You need a warrant to search someone's house, read their email (or email), or listen into their phone records. But no where is there a law that says they cannot keep metadata. In fact, all police departments keep metadata about us. Here in my home town the local police department has license plate scanners that scan your license plate, and they track this information.

Also, I do not believe law enforcement needs a warrant to collect data or even do surveillance. Usually they only need a warrant to search you, your car, your house, read your email / mail, or tap your phones.

Uh..who were they going to arrest? The entire NSA? The U.S Federal Govt.? President Obama?

Can't you see that what Snowden revealed to the American people (you and I) was that our govt. is spying on us.

THAT is unconstitutional without a JUDGE issuing a wire tap order. It's illegal Rochard.

Allow me to clarify. You need a warrant if you want to tap someone's phone or read their text messages or hack into their computer and read their emails. The Patriot Act allows groups like the NSA to do these things without a warrant so long as they go to court after and get a warrant. This is how our justice systems keeps them in check and makes certain they aren't abusing these powers. We found out that in many cases they never got those warrants after and nothing was ever done about it.

Also Rochard...check out what actually happened to him:
Julian Assange sex assault allegations: Timeline - BBC News

Go down and start reading after "Below is more information on how events have unfolded:"

It's crazy what happened to him.

And I remember the media were all up in arms about him being railroaded and they defended him. BUT...once he exposed Hillary, NOW they hate him.

Isn't that the definition of hypocrisy and bias?
