Why didn't Harry Potter use magic to correct his eyesight, so he didn't need the glasses that left him vulnerable when he lost or broke them?
This has been bothering me all day, so I thought I'd speak up...

Two reasons - he was hit by a death blinding curse as a baby and it would either be too dangerous to try to reverse...or potentially cannot be reversed
Second is the author wore glasses and she once said in an interview she just wanted the hero to have glasses LOLComment

Exact same thing could be said about the starwars franchise. The 1977 movie was written with kids in mind and just happened to also interest adults as well
Besides if you have never read the books, or seen the movies (I prefer the books) how can you possibly say you dont like them?Comment

it makes no sense to look for logic in the children's fairy tale

It was all explained, someone must have torn a page out of your book
The spell to correct his eyesight was written in ink that was invisible to anyone looking at it through glasses, and his eyes on their own weren't good enough to read it either.↑ see post ↑

Tried to get into it as a kid, but couldn't get past the first sentence. IDK it just didn't pull me in. Seems fun though, and I know lots of ppl who are lifelong fans. I feel like the internet has made a bigger deal of Harry Potter if anything
